Abstract

An assembly for a drug delivery device (1) is provided comprising a first member (10) comprising a main body (14) and an elastically displaceable feature (13) connected to the main body, and an attenuation member (22), wherein the attenuation member mechanically cooperates with the elastically displaceable feature to influence the force which has to be exerted on the elastically displaceable feature to displace the elastically displaceable feature elastically with respect to the main body. Further using an attenuation member (22) in a drug delivery device (22) is proposed to tune the force required to elastically displace an elastically displaceable feature (13) of a first member (10) of the drug delivery device by bringing the attenuation member into mechanical cooperation with the elastically displaceable feature.

Claims

1. Assembly for a drug delivery device (1), comprising:

a first member (10) comprising a main body (14) and an elastically displaceable feature (13) connected to the main body,

an attenuation member (22), wherein

the attenuation member mechanically cooperates with the elastically displaceable feature to influence the force which has to be exerted on the elastically displaceable feature to displace the elastically displaceable feature elastically with respect to the main body.

2. Assembly according to claim 1,

comprising a second member (16), the second member comprising a protruding feature (23), wherein the protruding feature is arranged to mechanically cooperate with the elastically displaceable feature (13) to elastically displace the elastically displaceable feature of the first member (10) when the first member is moved with respect to the second member or vice versa.

3. Assembly according to claim 2,

wherein the protruding feature (23) is a section of a thread (18) or defines a thread.

4. Assembly according to claim 2 or 3,

wherein the second member (16) is designed to transfer a driving force to the first member (10) by mechanical cooperation of the protruding feature (23) and the elastically displaceable feature (13).

5. Assembly according to any one of claims 2 to 4,

wherein the second member (16) is a drive sleeve and wherein the elastically displaceable feature (13) is retained in the drive sleeve and in mechanical contact with an inner surface of the drive sleeve.

6. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the elastically displaceable feature (13) is arranged to be displaced in the radial direction when the first member (10) is moved axially with respect to the second member (16) or vice versa.

7. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the attenuation member (22) is elastically deformable and elastically deformed when the elastically displaceable feature (13) is displaced, and wherein the attenuation member is chosen such that the elastic restoring force tending to restore the undeformed shape of the attenuation member is greater than the elastic restoring force provided by the elastic displacement of the elastically displaceable feature.

8. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the assembly comprises a plurality of elastically displaceable features (13) and the attenuation member (22) is clamped between at least two of the elastically displaceable features.

9. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the first member (10) is a piston rod.

10. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the first member (10) comprises a first section configured to establish a threaded engagement of a first lead, the elastically displaceable feature being arranged in the first section and being provided to establish the threaded engagement.

11. Assembly according to claim 10,

wherein the first member (10) comprises a second section provided to establish a threaded engagement of a second lead which is different from the first lead.

12. Assembly according to any one of the previous claims,

wherein the elastically displaceable feature (13) is elastically deformable.

13. Feedback mechanism for a drug delivery device (1), wherein the feedback mechanism comprises an assembly of any of the previous claims, wherein the attenuation member (22) is provided to adjust an audible and/or tactile feedback which is generatable when the elastically displaceable feature (13), after having been displaced, moves towards its undisplaced position.

14. Drug delivery device (1) comprising the assembly of any of the previous claims, wherein the elastically displaceable feature (13) is arranged to be displaced elastically from an undisplaced position to a displaced position during operation of the drug delivery device.

15. Using an attenuation member (22) in a drug delivery device (22) to tune the force required to elastically displace an elastically displaceable feature (13) of a first member (10) of the drug delivery device by bringing the attenuation member into mechanical cooperation with the elastically displaceable feature.
