Abstract

A display panel includes a substrate. A scan line and a data line intersect with each other and are disposed on the substrate. An active layer is disposed on the substrate and between the data line and the substrate. A transparent conductive layer is disposed on the substrate and above the active layer. The active layer includes a contact region electrically connected to the data line, a second contact region electrically connected to the transparent conductive layer, and an intermediate region disposed between the first and the second contact regions. A portion of the intermediate region overlapping with the scan line is a channel region. A portion of the intermediate region not overlapping with the scan line is a non-channel region. The width of the non-channel region is greater than the width of the channel region.

Claims

1. A display panel, comprising:

a first substrate;

a scan line and a data line intersecting with each other and disposed on the first substrate;

an active layer disposed on the first substrate and between the data line and the first substrate; and

a first transparent conductive layer disposed on the first substrate and over the active layer;

wherein the active layer comprises;

a first contact region electrically connected to the data line;

a second contact region electrically connected to the first transparent conductive layer; and

an intermediate region disposed between the first contact region and the second contact region, wherein the intermediate region and the scan line comprise an overlapping area overlapping with the scan line and a non-overlapping area not overlapping with the scan line, the overlapping area comprise a first channel region, and the non-overlapping area comprises a non-channel region,

and the non-channel region has a width that is greater than a width of the first channel region.

The display panel of claim 1, wherein the intermediate region partially overlaps the data line, and the intermediate region includes a first area and a second area disposed on two sides of the data line, respectively, wherein the second area is disposed between the data line and the second contact region.

3. The display panel of claim 2, wherein the first area has a width that is equal to a width of the second area.

4. The display panel of claim 2, wherein the first area has a width that is greater than a width of the second area.

5. The display panel of claim 2, wherein the first area has a width that is smaller than the width of the second area.

6. The display panel of claim 1, wherein the intermediate region near the first contact region has a width that is greater than a width of the intermediate region near the second contact region.

7. The display panel of claim 1, wherein of the second contact region has a width that is greater than a width of the first contact region, and the direction of the widths is substantially parallel to the scan line.

8. The display panel of claim 1, wherein the overlapping area of the intermediate region further comprises a second channel region, and the width of the non-channel region is greater than a width of the second channel region.

9. The display panel of claim 8, wherein the width of the second channel region is different form the width of the first channel region.

10. The display panel of claim 8, wherein the width of the second channel region is equal to the width of the first channel region.

11. The display panel of claim 8, wherein a portion of the intermediate region is disposed between the first channel region and the second channel region, the portion of region, and the width of the portion of the intermediate region is greater than a width of the second channel region.

12. The display panel of claim 11, wherein the portion of the intermediate region has two protruding parts, the two protruding parts protrude outwards from the first channel region and the second channel region respectively in a direction that is substantially parallel to the scan line.

13. The display panel of claim 1, further comprising:

a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate; and

a display medium disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.

14. The display panel of claim 1, further comprising a second transparent conductive layer disposed on the first substrate, wherein the second transparent conductive layer is disposed over the first transparent conductive layer.

15. The display panel of claim 14, wherein the second transparent conductive layer is a patterned electrode including a plurality of slits.

16. The display panel of claim 1, further comprising a second transparent conductive layer disposed on the first substrate, wherein the second transparent conductive layer is disposed under the first transparent conductive layer.

17. The display panel of claim 16, wherein the first transparent conductive layer is a patterned electrode including a plurality of slits, and the second transparent conductive layer has an opening near the second contact region.
