Abstract

An interface receives procurement data, the procurement data comprising data received from a home automation device. A processor applies forecast development rules to the procurement data. The processor determines an electricity procurement recommendation, the electricity procurement recommendation based on the analyzed energy usage data and the forecast development rules. Upon a determination of the electricity procurement recommendation, the interface communicates the electricity procurement recommendation to a retail electricity provider.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

an interface operable to receive procurement data, the procurement data comprising data received from a home automation device;

a processor operable to;

apply forecast development rules to the procurement data; and

determine an electricity procurement recommendation, the electricity procurement recommendation based on the analyzed procurement data and the forecast development rules; and

upon a determination of the electricity procurement recommendation, the interface further operable to communicate the electricity procurement recommendation to a retail electricity provider.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to offer an incentive and further comprising:

the processor further operable to determine the incentive;

the interface further operable to communicate the incentive to a user; and

the processor further operable to;

determine whether the user accepted the incentive; and

update customer forecast data to indicate that the user accepted the incentive.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to provide an optimization recommendation to a user and further comprising:

the processor is further operable to determine the optimization recommendation;

the interface is further operable to communicate the optimization recommendation to the user; and

the processor is further operable to;

determine whether the user accepts the optimization recommendation; and

update customer forecast data upon a determination that the user accepted the optimization recommendation.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the optimization recommendation comprises a recommendation to purchase an electric device.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the procurement data comprises one or more of device data, premise information data, consumer behavior data, Advanced Metering System data, customer decision data, and weather data.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the customer decision data indicates whether the user opted-in to an incentive program.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the home automation device comprises one or more of a security camera, a thermostat, a garage door opener, a pool pump, a lock, a contact sensor, a solar panel, a smart plug, a water leak sensor, and a light bulb.

8. A method, comprising:

receiving, through an interface, procurement data, the procurement data comprising data received from a home automation device;

applying, using a processor, forecast development rules to the procurement data;

determining, using the processor, an electricity procurement recommendation, the electricity procurement recommendation based on the analyzed procurement data and the forecast development rules; and

upon a determination of the electricity procurement recommendation, communicating the electricity procurement recommendation to a retail electricity provider.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to offer an incentive and further comprising:

determining the incentive;

communicating the incentive to a user;

determining whether the user accepted the incentive; and

updating customer forecast data to indicate that the user accepted the incentive.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to provide an optimization recommendation to a user and further comprising:

determining the optimization recommendation;

communicating the optimization recommendation to the user;

determining whether the user accepts the optimization recommendation;

updating customer forecast data upon a determination that the user accepted the optimization recommendation.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the optimization recommendation comprises a recommendation to purchase an electric device.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the procurement data comprises one or more of device data, premise information data, consumer behavior data, Advanced Metering System data, customer decision data, and weather data.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the customer decision data indicates whether the user opted-in to an incentive program.

14. The method of claim 8, wherein the home automation device comprises one or more of a security camera, a thermostat, a garage door opener, a pool pump, a lock, a contact sensor, a solar panel, a smart plug, a water leak sensor, and a light bulb.

15. Non-transitory computer readable medium comprising logic, the logic, when executed by a processor, operable to:

receive procurement data, the procurement data comprising data received from a home automation device;

apply forecast development rules to the procurement data;

determine an electricity procurement recommendation, the electricity procurement recommendation based on the analyzed procurement data and the forecast development rules; and

upon a determination of the electricity procurement recommendation, communicate the electricity procurement recommendation to a retail electricity provider.

16. The medium of claim 15, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to offer an incentive and further operable to:

determine the incentive;

communicate the incentive to a user;

determine whether the user accepted the incentive; and

update customer forecast data to indicate that the user accepted the incentive.

17. The medium of claim 15, wherein the procurement recommendation comprises a recommendation to provide an optimization recommendation to a user and further operable to:

determine the optimization recommendation;

communicate the optimization recommendation to the user;

determine whether the user accepts the optimization recommendation;

update customer forecast data upon a determination that the user accepted the optimization recommendation.

18. The medium of claim 17, wherein the optimization recommendation comprises a recommendation to purchase an electric device.

19. The medium of claim 15, wherein the procurement data comprises one or more of device data, premise information data, consumer behavior data, Advanced Metering System data, customer decision data, and weather data.

20. The medium of claim 15, wherein the home automation device comprises one or more of a security camera, a thermostat, a garage door opener, a pool pump, a lock, a contact sensor, a solar panel, a smart plug, a water leak sensor, and a light bulb.
