Abstract

The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, generating input packets including broadcast content data; generating a link layer packet by using the generated input packets, wherein the link layer packet includes a link layer header and a link layer payload including the generated input packets, wherein the link layer header includes a count field indicating number of the input packets included in the link layer payload, wherein the link layer header further includes a length part, wherein the length part includes a plurality of length fields as many as that the count field indicates, wherein each of the length fields indicates length of the each input packets included in the link layer payload; generating a broadcast signal including the generated link layer packet; and transmitting the broadcast signal.

Claims

1. A method of transmitting broadcast signals, the method including:

receiving input packets including broadcast data;

generating a link layer packet using the input packets, wherein the link layer packet includes a link layer header and a link layer payload including the input packets, wherein the link layer header includes a packet configuration field indicating a configuration of the link layer payload, wherein the link layer header includes a count field indicating a number of the input packets included in the link layer packet; and

transmitting the generated link layer packet.

2. The method of claim 1,

wherein the link layer header further includes a length part,

wherein the length part includes length fields based on a value of the count field, and

wherein the each length field indicates a length of each of the input packets.

4. The method of claim 1,

wherein the link layer header further includes packet type information and the packet type information indicates that the input packet is one of IPv4 packet, a compressed IP packet, and a MPEG-2 TS packet.

5. The method of claim 1,

wherein one of the link layer packets includes a context information, wherein the context information are extracted from the input packets.

6. The method of claim 5,

wherein the input packets in the link layer payload has no context information.

9. The method of claim 1,

wherein the packet configuration field is followed by the count field, wherein the count field is followed by the length part.

11. An apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals, the apparatus including:

a first module for receiving input packets including broadcast data;

a second module for generating a link layer packet using the input packets, wherein the link layer packet includes a link layer header and a link layer payload including the input packets, wherein the link layer header includes a packet configuration field indicating a configuration of the link layer payload, wherein the link layer header includes a count field indicating a number of the input packets included in the link layer packet; and

a third module for transmitting the generated link layer packet.

12. The apparatus of claim 11,

wherein the link layer header further includes a length part,

wherein the length part includes length fields based on a value of the count field, and

wherein the each length field indicates a length of each of the input packets.

14. The apparatus of claim 11,

wherein the link layer header further includes packet type information and the packet type information indicates that the input packet is one of IPv4 packet, a compressed IP packet, and a MPEG-2 TS packet.

15. The apparatus of claim 11,

wherein on of the link layer packets includes a context information,

wherein the context information are extracted from the input packets.

16. The apparatus of claim 15,

wherein the input packets in the link layer payload has no context information.

wherein the packet configuration field is followed by the count field, wherein the count field is followed by the length part.
