Abstract

In accordance with one embodiment, a method for determining changes in health of a user is disclosed. The method includes sensing multi-dimensional motion of a body part of a user to generate a first multi-dimensional motion signal at a first time and date; in response to the first multi-dimensional motion signal, generating a first neuro-mechanical fingerprint; generating a first health measure in response to the first NFP and user calibration parameters; sensing multi-dimensional motion of the body part of the user to generate another multi-dimensional motion signal at another time and date; in response to the another multi-dimensional motion signal, generating another neuro-mechanical fingerprint; generating another health measure in response to the another NFP and the user calibration parameters; and comparing the first health measure with the another health measure to determine a difference representing the health degradation of the user.

Claims

1. A method of determining a change in health of a user, the method comprising:

a) sensing multi-dimensional motion of a body part of a user to generate a first multi-dimensional motion signal at a first time and date;

b) in response to the first multi-dimensional motion signal, generating a first neuro-mechanical fingerprint (NFP);

c) generating a first health measure in response to the first NFP;

d) sensing multi-dimensional motion of the body part of the user to generate another multi-dimensional motion signal at another time and date;

e) in response to the another multi-dimensional motion signal, generating another neuro-mechanical fingerprint;

f) generating another health measure in response to the another NFP; and

g) comparing the first health measure with the another health measure to determine a difference representing a change in health of the user.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising

storing the first health measure associated with the first time and date;

and

storing the another health measure associated with the another time and date.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising

repeating steps d through g to continue determining the difference representing the change in health of the user.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein

the difference between the first health measure and the another health measure is positive indicating a health improvement.

5. The method of claim 3, wherein

the difference between the first health measure and the another health measure is negative indicating a health degradation.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein

the health degradation is a type associated with drinking alcohol;

and

the health degradation of the user restricts the users capability of operating machinery or a vehicle.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein

the health degradation is a heart rhythm variability of the user.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein

the health degradation is a neurodegenerative disease of the user.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein

the neurodegenerative disease is either Alzheimer disease or Parkinson disease.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein

the multi-dimensional motion of the body part of the user is sensed locally to generate the first multi-dimensional motion signal at a first time and date;

the first multi-dimensional motion signal is transmitted remotely over a communication system to a server to store the first multi-dimensional motion signal and generate a first neuro-mechanical fingerprint (NFP) in response thereto.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein

the multi-dimensional motion of the body part of the user is sensed in three dimensions with a three-dimensional touch sensor to generate a three dimensional motion signal at the first time and date.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein

the multi-dimensional motion of the body part of the user is sensed in three dimensions with a three-dimensional accelerometer to generate a three dimensional motion signal at the first time and date.

13. A method of determining a change in health of a user, the method comprising:

sensing, with a multi-dimensional sensor, multi-dimensional motion of a body part at a plurality of dates/times;

generating a plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals at the plurality of dates/times in response to the sensing;

generating a plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints for the respective plurality of dates/times in response to the plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals;

comparing at least two of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine a change in health of the user between at least two dates/times; and

reporting the change in health to the user.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein

the comparing analyzes the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints over time, and the method further comprises

analyzing frequency components in each of the plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals to determine a pathological condition.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprises:

searching for one or more predetermined data patterns in each of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine a pathological condition.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprises:

searching for one or more predetermined data patterns in each of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine another pathological condition.

17. The method of claim 13, further comprises:

storing the plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals into s storage device for subsequent processing.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprises:

searching for one or more predetermined data patterns in each of the plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals to determine a pathological condition.

19. A system for analyzing health of a user, the system comprising:

a health diagnostic device including

a multi-dimensional sensor to sample multi-dimensional motion of a body part of a user and generate a multi-dimensional motion signal in response thereto; and

a controller coupled to the multi-dimensional sensor, the controller to control the sampling of the multi-dimensional motion and the generation of the multi-dimensional motion signals at different dates and times;

and,

a server in communication with the health diagnostic device, the server including

a storage device to store data and provide access to stored data, and

one or more processors coupled to the storage device, the one or more processors to execute instructions to configure the one or more processors to process data, including data stored in the storage device,

wherein the storage device stores multi-dimensional motion signals and respective neuro-mechanical fingerprints at different dates and times for processing by the one or more processors,

wherein at least one processor is configured by instructions to generate a plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints for the respective plurality of dates/times in response to the plurality of multi-dimensional motion signals, and

wherein at least one processor is configured by instructions to compare at least two of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine a change in health of the user between at least two dates/times.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein

at least one processor is configured by instructions to analyze frequency components in each of the multi-dimensional motion signals to determine a pathological condition.

21. The system of claim 19, wherein

at least one processor is configured by instructions to search for one or more predetermined data patterns in each of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine a pathological condition.

22. The system of claim 20, wherein

at least one processor is configured by instructions to search for one or more predetermined data patterns in each of the plurality of neuro-mechanical fingerprints to determine a pathological condition.
