Abstract

Operations of a UE and eNB are provided when there is a cell which can perform cell on/off. In this case, the UE may performs receiving signal on downlink channel and processing with the signal on the downlink channel. In addition, the signal on the downlink channel may includes a discovery signal when the cell is off-state, and the discovery signal is a signal used for cell identification and/or measurement.

Claims

1. A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) with on-off available cell, the method comprising:

receiving signal on downlink channel; and

processing with the signal on the downlink channel; and

wherein the signal on the downlink channel includes a discovery signal when the cell is off-state, and

wherein the discovery signal is a signal used for cell identification and/or measurement.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing includes determining whether the cell is in off-state or in on-state, and

wherein the cell is determined based on cell activation such that the cell is determined as off-state when the cell is deactivated.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing includes determining whether the cell is in off-state or in on-state, and

wherein the cell is determined based on at least one of blind detection, explicit signaling or higher layer signaling.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing includes performing measurement with signals transmitted at a subframe carrying discovery signal when the cell is in off-state.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing includes assessing radio link quality in non-DRX mode per every radio frame when the cell is not in off-state or when the UE is configured to perform radio link monitoring.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of processing includes assessing radio link quality in non-DRX mode per every radio frame when the cell is not in off-state or when the UE is configured to perform radio link monitoring.

7. An user equipment for wireless communication with on-off available cell, the UE comprising:

a radio frequency (RF) unit for transmitting and receiving a signal; and

a processor operatively coupled to the RF unit, wherein the processor is configured for transmitting a signal via the RF unit,

wherein the processor receives a signal on downlink channel including a discovery signal when the cell is off-state, and

wherein the discovery signal is a signal used for cell identification and/or measurement.

8. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor determines whether the cell is in off-state or in on-state based on cell activation and wherein the processor determines the cell as off-state when the cell is deactivated.

9. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor determines whether the cell is in off-state or in on-state based on at least one of blind detection, explicit signaling or higher layer signaling.

10. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor performs measurement with signals transmitted at a subframe carrying discovery signal when the cell is in off-state.

11. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor determines a cell as in on-state when the RF unit receives multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) from the cell.

12. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor assesses radio link quality in non-DRX mode per every radio frame when the cell is not in off-state or when the UE is configured to perform radio link monitoring.

13. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor determines all of downlink subframes as off-state when valid downlink control information (DCI) is not detected at a predetermined subframe.

14. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor performs measurement with legacy cell-specific reference signal (CRS) for activated cell when the processor determines an activated cell as a cell in on-state and a deactivated cell as a cell in off-state.

15. The user equipment of claim 7, wherein the processor determines a cell with a licensed band as a cell in on-state and determines a cell with an unlicensed band as a cell in off-state.
