1. A fuel tank cap comprising:
- a body having an interior bottom surface and an interior side surface; and
a seal positioned within said body and adapted to sealingly engage a filler tube opening, said seal including a base and an arm, said base frictionally positioned against said interior bottom surface and said interior side surface of said body, said arm extending outwardly from said base wherein said arm defines a first thickness directly adjacent said base and a second thickness in a central region of said arm, and wherein said first thickness is less than said second thickness.

The present invention provides a fuel cap including a body, a seal positioned within the body and adapted for engaging a filler tube opening, the seal manufactured of a material and in a shape such that the seal itself provides the biasing force to secure the cap on the filler tube opening.
