1. A method for controlling image presentation in a see-through head-worn display system with improved viewability for a user comprising:
- determining a brightness of a see-through view of a surrounding environment;
determining a brightness metric of an image to be displayed; and
adjusting an attribute of the image based on the brightness metric of the image and the brightness of the see-through view of the surrounding environment such that a predetermined combined brightness of the see-through view and the brightness of the image is presented to the user.
