Abstract
The present invention provides devices and systems for use at the point of care. The methods devices of the invention are directed toward automatic detection of analytes in a bodily fluid. The components of the device are modular to allow for flexibility and robustness of use with the disclosed methods for a variety of medical applications.

79. A system for detecting at least two analytes present in a sample, the system comprising:

a cartridge comprising; a plurality of reagent units;
a plurality of assay units;
at least one pipette tip, andat least one absorbent pad, all of the foregoing arranged in a two-dimensional pattern and not together in a single row; an instrument comprising; an automated fluid transfer device; a cartridge receiving location configured to position the cartridge effective that the automated fluid transfer device can engage at least one sample vessel, one of said reagent units, one of said assay units, or at least one pipette tip in the cartridge; and a signal detector, wherein the fluid transfer device is used to decouple at least one of the assay units from the cartridge and transport said at least one of said assay units to the signal detector at a different location in the instrument; wherein the cartridge is configured to contain all reagents and supplies used in detection of said at least two analytes. - View Dependent Claims (80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107)
