33. A method for measuring blood oxygen saturation in a blood-filled structure comprising:
-
a) providing a subject; b) providing a system comprising; 1) at least one oximeter sensor comprising; i) at least two light sources of differing wavelength; ii) at least one photodetector; and iii) a sensor housing comprising; a′
) a flexible tubular member;b′
) an optically transparent electrically isolated sheath; andc′
) a cable comprising at least one connector; and3) a processor comprising; i) a controller; ii) an oxygen saturation program on a computer-readable medium for analyzing a plurality of signals from said oximeter sensor configured to generate a distribution of the relative frequency of occurrence of oxygen saturations obtained within defined intervals of oxygen saturation at a plurality of predetermined averaging intervals; iii) a database; and iv) a display; and c) positioning said oximeter sensor in a position adjacent to a blood-filled structure of said subject wherein said display of said distribution identifies said blood-filled structure; and d) measuring said blood oxygen saturation in said blood filled structure of said subject.
