Abstract

Configuring guided pages in this document may include preparing a columnar-based multi-domain business intelligence data set, from a plurality of sources of data that can be independently formatted, by processing the data from the plurality of sources with a data calculation engine that organizing the columns to align with user specified and/or automatically determined dimensions that are associated with a business and populating the columns with data that relates to each of the dimensions from each of the plurality of sources of data, along with at least one displayable actionable element that activates a collaboration project, associated with at least one of the dimensions, in a user interface of a business collaboration platform.

Claims

1. Accessing a specific instance of a user interface screen of a collaboration platform by selecting an active element in a guided navigation page of a plurality of guided pages that include information predetermined to be pertinent to the continuation of an activity workflow of a business for which the collaboration platform facilitates access to workflow activities and to facilitate direct navigation among a plurality of data domains in response to user selection of one of a plurality of displayable actionable elements that are each associated with at least one core dimension of the information predetermined to be pertinent to the continuation of an activity workflow of the business, the plurality of displayable actionable elements presented in a referring guided page associated with the activity workflow of the business, wherein user interaction via the interactive electronic display with one of the plurality of displayable actionable elements in the referring guided page results in presenting a corresponding screen in the collaborative platform with which the displayable actionable element is associated and representative of a data domain represented in the referring guided page, wherein the corresponding screen in the collaboration platform is one of a home page, activity page, metrics page, meeting page, and search result page.

Recommending a collaboration project to be initiated in a multi-user business collaboration computing platform for achieving at least one goal that is measureable by data that is used to generate a guided navigation page, the goal associated with a workflow of a business for which the guided navigation page of a plurality of guided navigation pages includes information predetermined to be pertinent to a continuation of the workflow, the guided navigation pages facilitating direct navigation among a plurality of data domains in response to user selection of one of a plurality of displayable actionable elements that are each associated with at least one core dimension of the information predetermined to be pertinent to the continuation of an activity workflow of the business, wherein application of goal attainment algorithms to at least a portion of the data in the guided navigation page results in presenting a candidate collaboration project in a user interface of the collaboration platform, the candidate collaboration project associated with at least one data domain representative of the data in the guided navigation page and with the at least one core dimension, wherein the candidate collaboration project includes team members selected from a list maintained via the collaboration platform of team members associated with the workflow for a business of the guide navigation page.

Configuring a collaboration project in a multi-user business collaboration computing platform for achieving at least one goal that is measureable by data that is used to generate a guided navigation page, the goal associated with a workflow of a business for which the guided navigation page of a plurality of guided navigation pages includes information predetermined to be pertinent to a continuation of the workflow, the guided navigation pages facilitating direct navigation among a plurality of data domains in response to user selection of one of a plurality of displayable actionable elements that are each associated with at least one core dimension of the information predetermined to be pertinent to the continuation of an activity workflow of the business, wherein application of goal attainment algorithms to at least a portion of the data in the guided navigation page results in presenting a configured collaboration project in a user interface of the collaboration platform, the configured collaboration project associated with at least one data domain representative of the data in the guided navigation page and with the at least one core dimension, wherein the configured collaboration project includes team members selected from a list maintained via the collaboration platform of team members associated with the workflow for a business of the guide navigation page.

A method of generating and operating guided navigation pages of data that originates in a business collaboration platform comprises accessing data that are used in a workflow of activities for which a collaboration project in the collaboration platform exists, the collaboration platform data consisting of internally generated data of the business and externally sourced data, the accessed data comprising different first and second data domains among a plurality of data domains, the method comprising:

determining a plurality of core dimensions of the accessed data, at least one of the plurality of core dimensions being common to the first and second data domains, the at least one of the plurality of core dimensions identifying a data type within the plurality of the data domains for enabling the workflow for the particular business activity;

generating a data set from the collaboration platform data using a columnar data generation engine that aligns data from at least a portion of each of the internally sourced data and externally sourced data with the common core dimensions to produce a columnar data structure;

generating machine-specific code from a user inquiry associated with the collaboration platform, the code comprising a set of logical instructions for accessing the data set based on the content of the inquiry; and

deriving data from the data set with the machine-specific code for a portion of a plurality of guided pages that are presented in a user interface on an interactive electronic display, the plurality of guided pages including predetermined workflow information for the particular business to facilitate direct navigation from the first domain to the second domain of the plurality of data domains, wherein a first guided page of a plurality of guided pages includes;

at least one displayable actionable element representing data from at least the first domain, wherein user selection in the user interface of the actionable element facilitates presentation in the user interface of a follow-on guided page comprising one of;

a second guided page of the first data domain;

a guided page of a plurality of data domains including at least one of the first data domain and the second data domain; and

a guided page of the second data domain that is associated with a core dimension that is common to the first and second data domains for the workflow of the particular business activity.

Accessing a guided navigation page from a collaboration platform by configuring a displayable actionable elements in a user interface of the collaboration platform to link to a guided navigation page that shares a core dimension between a data set from which the guided navigation page is generated and a collaboration project that is accessed through the collaboration user interface that includes the displayable actionable element, wherein the displayable actionable element activates an instance of a guided navigation page application to provide access to a plurality of guided pages that share the core dimension and that are generated from the data set based on the shared core dimension that is associated with at least one data domain of the data set that corresponds to at least one data domain of the collaboration project.

The displayable actionable element of claim 5, wherein the displayable actionable element configures a digital data structure with collaboration project descriptive data, and a core dimension and at least one data domain derived from data of the collaboration project and further activates a guided navigation page determination algorithm to identify at least one guided navigation page from the plurality of guided navigation pages based on comparing a portion of the digital data structure with one or more data sets from which a portion of the plurality of guided navigation pages are generated.
