Abstract

An electronic device includes an imaging device to capture image data. At least one processor is configured to: process the image data to determine whether the image data includes a graphic that changes over time, and pair the electronic device with a second electronic device in response to a determination that the image data includes the graphic that changes over time.

Claims

1. An electronic device comprising:

an imaging device to capture image data; and

at least one processor configured to;

process the image data to determine whether the image data includes a graphic that changes over time; and

pair the electronic device with a second electronic device in response to a determination that the image data includes the graphic that changes over time.

2. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the graphic that changes over time is indicative of pairing data to generate a communication channel with the second electronic device.

3. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to pair the electronic device and the second electronic device by at least being configured to:

based on the graphic that changes over time, determine pairing data linked to the second electronic device; and

based on the pairing data, establish a communication channel with the second electronic device.

4. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to store configuration data based on the pairing of the electronic device and the second electronic device, the configuration data being usable to perform subsequent pairings of the electronic device and the second electronic device.

5. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

in response to the paring, initialize the second electronic device for operation with the electronic device.

6. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

in response to the paring, initialize at least one of the electronic device and the second electronic device for automatic subsequent pairing of the electronic device and second electronic device.

7. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the electronic device is a smart phone.

8. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the second electronic device is a wearable device.

9. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein the pairing of the electronic device and the second electronic device corresponds to wireless pairing.

10. The electronic apparatus of claim 1, wherein the at least one processor is configured to perform facial recognition to pair the electronic device with the second electronic device.

11. A method comprising:

processing image data to determine whether the image data includes a graphic that changes over time; and

pairing a first electronic device with a second electronic device in response to a determination that the image data includes the graphic that changes over time.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the graphic that changes over time is indicative of pairing data to generate a communication channel with the second electronic device.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the pairing of the first electronic device with the second electronic device comprises:

determining pairing data linked to the second electronic device based on the graphic that changes over time; and

establishing a communication channel with the second electronic device based on the pairing data.

14. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

storing configuration data based on the pairing of the electronic device and the second electronic device, wherein the configuration data being usable to perform subsequent pairings of the electronic device and the second electronic device.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

initializing the second electronic device for operation with the electronic device in response to the paring.

16. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

initializing at least one of the electronic device and the second electronic device for automatic subsequent pairing of the electronic device and second electronic device in response to the paring.

17. The method of claim 11, wherein the electronic device is a smart phone, and the second electronic device is a wearable device.

18. The method of claim 11, wherein the pairing of the electronic device and the second electronic device corresponds to wireless pairing.

19. The method of claim 11, further comprising performing facial recognition for pairing the electronic device with the second electronic device.

20. A non-transitory processor-readable medium that includes a program that when executed by a processor performs a method comprising:

processing image data to determine whether the image data includes a graphic that changes over time; and

pairing a first electronic device with a second electronic device in response to a determination that the image data includes the graphic that changes over time.
