1. A method for receiving a user input by an electronic device, the method comprising:
- receiving a first touch input on a touchscreen;
detecting at least part of a region contacted by the first touch input on the touchscreen, a region adjacent to the contacted region, and a position adjacent to the contacted region, after receiving the first touch input; and
displaying a user interface on the touchscreen at least partially based on a relative relation between the region contacted by the first touch input, and at least one of the adjacent region and the adjacent position.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method and an electronic device for receiving a user input by the electronic device is provided.
