Abstract

A method for enabling seamlessly linking multiple network-connected devices to a same user application account, including: receiving, at an application service provider computing environment, over a communication network, and from a first network device having installed thereon an application, an input and a registration request, wherein the input includes profile specific information of a cloud computing environment; accessing at a memory device of the application service provider computer environment and in response to the registration request, stored network device user profile information associated with a second network device having installed thereon the application; comparing, the profile specific information with the network device user profile information; and based on the comparing, if the profile specific information matches a predetermined minimum of information of the network device user profile information, releasing, by the processor, a portion of the network device user profile information to the first network device.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for authorizing access to an application account, thereby enabling seamlessly linking multiple network-connected devices to a same user application account, said method comprising:

receiving, at an application service provider computing environment, over a communication network, and from a first network device having installed thereon an application, an input and a registration request, wherein said input comprises profile specific information of a cloud computing environment;

accessing at a memory device of said application service provider computer environment and in response to said registration request and using a processor, stored network device user profile information associated with a second network device having installed thereon said application;

comparing, using said processor, said profile specific information with said network device user profile information; and

based on said comparing and using said processor, if said profile specific information matches a predetermined minimum of information of said network device user profile information, releasing, by said processor, a portion of said network device user profile information to said first network device.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting an access authorization message to said first device, wherein said access authorization message signifies said releasing, thereby enabling access to said portion.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving an installation request from a second network device, at said application service provider computing environment, wherein said installation request comprises a request to install said application.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3, further comprising:

responding to said installation request by making said application available to be downloaded by said second network device.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 3, further comprising:

capturing said network device user profile information from said second network device.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein said capturing said network device user profile information occurs before said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein said capturing said network device user profile information occurs while said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein said capturing of said network device user profile information occurs after said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein said capturing said network device user profile information occurs in at least one of the following time periods:

before said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device;

during said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device; and

after said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

An article of manufacture, which comprises a computer readable medium having stored therein a computer program for providing authorization for accessing an application account, thereby enabling seamless linking of multiple network-connected devices to an application account, the computer program comprising:

a first code segment which, when executed on a computer, receives an input at an application service provider computing environment, over a communication network, and from a first network device having installed thereon an application, an input, wherein said input comprises profile specific information of a cloud computing environment;

a second code segment which, when executed on a computer, receives a registration request at said application service provider computing environment, over said communication network, and from said first network device;

a third code segment which, when executed on said computer, accesses at a memory device of said application service provider computer environment, stored network device user profile information associated with a second network device having installed thereon said application;

a fourth code segment which, when executed on said computer, compares said profile specific information with said network device user profile information;

a fifth code segment which, when executed on said computer, based on said comparing, if said profile specific information matches a predetermined minimum of information of said network device user profile information, releasing a portion of said network device user profile information to said first network device.

11. The article of manufacture of claim 10, wherein said computer program further comprises:

a sixth code segment which, when executed on a computer, transmits an access authorization message to said first device, wherein said access authorization message signifies said releasing, thereby enabling access to said portion.

12. The article of manufacture of claim 10, wherein said computer program further comprises:

a seventh code segment which, when executed on a computer, receives an installation request from a second network device, at said application service provider computing environment, wherein said installation request comprises a request to install said application.

13. The article of manufacture of claim 12, wherein said computer program further comprises:

an eighth code segment which, when executed on a computer, responds to said installation request by making said application available to be downloaded by said second network device.

14. The article of manufacture of claim 10, wherein said compute program further comprises:

a ninth code segment which, when executed on a computer, captures said network device user profile information from said second network device.

15. The article of manufacture of claim 10, wherein said computer program further comprises:

a tenth code segment which, when executed on a computer, captures said network device user profile information in at least one of the following time periods;

before said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device;

during said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device; and

after said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

16. An account access authorizer comprising:

a receiver configured for receiving at an application service provider computing environment, over a communication network, and from a first network device having installed thereon an application, an input and a registration request, wherein said input comprises profile specific information of a cloud computing environment;

a memory device configured for storing thereon network device user profile information associated with a second network device having installed thereon said application;

a processor configured for;

accessing said network device user profile information in response to receiving said registration request;

comparing said profile specific information with said network device user profile information; and

based on said comparing, if said profile specific information matches a predetermined minimum of information of said network device user profile information, releasing a portion of said network device user profile information to said first network device; and

a transmitter configured for transmitting an access authorization message to said first device, wherein said access authorization message signifies said releasing, thereby enabling access to said portion.

The account access authorizer of claim 16, wherein said receiver is further configured for receiving an installation request from a second network device, at said application service provider computing environment, wherein said installation request comprises a request to install said application.

18. The account access authorizer of claim 17, wherein said processor is further configured for responding to said installation request by making said application available to be downloaded by said second network device.

19. The account access authorizer of claim 16, wherein said processor is further configured for capturing said network device user profile information from said second network device.

20. The account access authorizer of claim 16, wherein said processor is further configured for capturing said network device user profile information occurs before said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

21. The account access authorizer of claim 16, wherein said processor is further configured for capturing said network device user profile information occurs while said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.

22. The account access authorizer of claim 16, wherein said processor is further configured for capturing said network device user profile information occurs after said application is made available to be downloaded by said second network device.
