1. A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing for at least one of blank or subsonic ammunition comprising:
- an upper component, molded from a polymer, comprising;
a first end having a mouth; and
at least a wall between the first end and a second end of the upper component opposite the first end;
a lower component, molded from a polymer, joined with the upper component, and having a lower wall;
an insert joined to the lower component;
a polymer sleeve extending longitudinally, radially, and in contact with at least one of the wall and the lower wall;
wherein the polymer sleeve has a uniform thickness and reduces a volume of a propellant chamber formed by at least one of the wall and the lower wall.

Abstract
A high strength polymer-based cartridge casing includes a cartridge body, molded from a polymer, having a first end and an opposing second end, and enclosing a volume. A bullet is removably engaged with the first end and an insert is engaged to the second end. A shoulder portion is located proximate the first end and a propellant chamber formed in the volume. The propellant chamber has a first diameter proximate to the shoulder, a second diameter proximate to the insert and greater than the first diameter, and a linear slope disposed between the first diameter and the second diameter.
