METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE
First Claim
1. A mobile services control system for disabling a controllable mobile device, comprising:
- a vehicle detection subsystem is operable to communicate with a vehicle and the controllable mobile device; and
a velocity notification transmitter is operable to communicate with the vehicle detection subsystem and configured to transmit a unique wireless signal from the vehicle detection system, wherein the controllable mobile device is operable to transmit the unique wireless signal to a mobile device service provider without any specialized software.

Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method and system for detecting, monitoring and/or controlling one or more of mobile services for a mobile communication device (also referred to herein as a Controllable Mobile Device or CMD), and in particular, when the device is being used and the vehicle, operated by the user of the device, is moving. The present method and system determines whether the vehicle is being operated by a user that may also have access to a mobile communication device which, if used concurrently while the vehicle is in operation, may lead to unsafe operation of the vehicle. If the mobile services control system determines that a vehicle operator has potentially unsafe access to a mobile communication device, the mobile services control system may restrict operator access to one or more services that would otherwise be available to the operator via the mobile communication device.

7. A method for performing a wireless location service, comprising:
-
provisioning the service to establish or associate a particular controllable mobile device with a unique identification signature; sensing with a vehicle detection subsystem to determine state of a vehicle; transmitting a unique wireless signal from the vehicle detection subsystem when an unsafe state is sensed; comparing the unique wireless signal to determine whether it is associated with the particular controllable mobile device; and restricting an interactive service provided of the particular controllable mobile device if the association is found.
