Abstract

A method for transmitting data between a mobile communication device and a server. The method includes running a mobile application on the mobile communication device. The mobile application is hosted on the mobile communication device through the server as a Software as a Service (SaaS). The method further includes transmitting data associated with the mobile application between the mobile communication device and the server, in which transmission of the data between the mobile communication device and the server is monitored through the server.

Claims

1. A method for conducting a near field communication (NFC) transaction using an NFC protocol, the method comprising:

receiving at a transaction server an identification code from a management server associated with the NFC transaction between a secure element coupled to a mobile device and an NFC terminal configured to use the NFC protocol, the mobile device comprising a mobile device processor, mobile device memory, and mobile device transceiver, and

processing the NFC transaction at the transaction server using a payment method corresponding to the identification code received from the management server via the NFC terminal by the secure element,

wherein the secure element maintains a secure element application configured to use the NFC protocol in a secure element memory and a secure element processor that initiates, in response to a near field communication inductive signal from the NFC terminal, execution of the secure element application using the NFC protocol and transfer of the identification code to the NFC terminal using a secure element communication transceiver supporting a communication channel comprising the NFC protocol.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the payment method is a default payment method.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the payment method is a user selected payment method.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising applying a coupon during the near field communication transaction

5. The method of claim 1, further wherein a digital artifact is delivered from the management server to the mobile device.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the digital artifact comprises an advertisement, receipt, ticket, coupon, media, metadata and/or content.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the digital artifact includes metadata operable to trigger a secondary call-to-action.

8. The method of claim 1, further wherein a digital artifact is received through the secure element communication transceiver at the secure element after purchase from the NFC terminal.

9. The method of claim 1, further wherein data stored on the mobile device is encrypted using a mobile operating system native to the mobile device

10. A transaction server for conducting a near field communication t(NFC) transaction, the server comprising:

a transaction server memory;

a transaction server interface coupled to the server memory, the server interface operable to receive an identification code from a management server associated with the NFC transaction between a secure element coupled to a mobile device and an NFC terminal configured to use the NFC protocol, the mobile device comprising a mobile device processor, mobile device memory, and mobile device transceiver;

a transaction server processor that processes the NFC transaction using a payment method corresponding to the identification code received from the management server via the NFC terminal by the secure element,

wherein the secure element maintains a secure element application configured to use the NFC protocol in a secure element memory and a secure element processor that initiates in response to a near field communication inductive signal from the NFC terminal using the NFC protocol, execution of the secure element application and transfer of the identification code to the NFC terminal using a secure element communication transceiver supporting a communication channel comprising the NFC protocol.

11. The transaction server of claim 10, wherein the payment method is a default payment method.

12. The transaction server of claim 10, wherein the payment method is a user selected payment method.

13. The transaction server of claim 10, further comprising applying a coupon during the near field communication transaction.

14. The transaction server of claim 10, further wherein a digital artifact is delivered from the management server to the mobile device.

15. The transaction server of claim 14, wherein the digital artifact comprises an advertisement, receipt, ticket, coupon, media, metadata and/or content.

16. The transaction server of claim 14, wherein the digital artifact includes metadata operable to trigger a secondary call-to-action.

17. The transaction server of claim 10, further wherein a digital artifact is received through the secure element communication transceiver at the secure element after purchase from the NFC terminal.

18. The transaction server of claim 10, further wherein data stored on the mobile device is encrypted using a mobile operating system native to the mobile device.

19. A computer readable medium for conducting a near field communication (NFC) transaction using an NFC protocol comprising:

computer code for receiving at a transaction server an identification code from a management server associated with the NFC transaction between a secure element coupled to a mobile device and an NFC terminal configured to use the NFC protocol, the mobile device comprising a mobile device processor, mobile device memory, and mobile device transceiver, and

computer code for processing the NFC transaction at the transaction server using a payment method corresponding to the identification code received from the management server via the NFC terminal by the secure element,

wherein the secure element maintains a secure element application configured to use the NFC protocol in a secure element memory and a secure element processor that initiates, in response to a near field communication inductive signal from the NFC terminal, execution of the secure element application using the NFC protocol and transfer of the identification code to the NFC terminal using a secure element communication transceiver supporting a communication channel comprising the NFC protocol.
