1. A computerized method for identifying and registering a new appliance, useful in association with a mobile device associated with an owner, the method comprising:
- receiving at the new appliance a unique activation user identifier and a password from the mobile device;
receiving at the new appliance a unique mobile device identifier from the mobile device;
transmitting by the new appliance a unique security key to the mobile device;
receiving at the new appliance a unique service identifier from the mobile device;
transmitting at the new appliance via a cellular network the unique service identifier to a cellular service provider;
receiving an activation acknowledgement at the new appliance via the cellular network from the cellular service provider; and
transmitting by the new appliance an updated unique security key to the mobile device via the cellular network.
