1. A method to treat acute sinusitis as an alternative to prescribing an antibiotic or recommending over-the-counter medications, the method comprising:
- providing a non-antibiotic treatment package containing a pharmacy-dispensed decongestant and an over-the-counter therapeutic agent for acute sinusitis that includes a topical nasal moisturizing means and at least one of an antihistamine, an oral mucolytic agent, an analgesic, a topical corticosteroid, a topical anticholinergic agent, an oral anticholinergic agent, a cough suppressant, an antiviral agent, a vitamin, an anti-inflammatory agent, a symptomatic vapor treatment and not an antibiotic, and further selecting pseudoephedrine that is pharmacy-dispensed wherein the non-antibiotic treatment package is a behind-the-counter treatment package;
advising a patient to procure the treatment package to treat acute sinusitis as an alternative to prescribing an antibiotic or recommending over-the-counter procurement of treatment; and
pharmacy-dispensing the treatment package to a patient.
