Abstract

The present disclosure includes a medical monitoring hub as the center of monitoring for a monitored patient. The hub includes configurable medical ports and serial ports for communicating with other medical devices in the patient'"'"'s proximity. Moreover, the hub communicates with a portable patient monitor. The monitor, when docked with the hub provides display graphics different from when undocked, the display graphics including anatomical information. The hub assembles the often vast amount of electronic medical data, associates it with the monitored patient, and in some embodiments, communicates the data to the patient'"'"'s medical records.

Claims

1. A method of associating data from disparate medical devices with a patient being monitored, the method comprising:

designating a patient on a medical device;

receiving data at the medical device from a plurality of different medical devices, each device monitoring the patient or associated with the patient at a monitoring facility; and

associating the data with the patient.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the designating comprises selecting from a list of patients at the caregiver facility, the list acquired from the facility'"'"'s electronic devices.

3. The method of claim 1, comprising outputting the data associated with the patient to a medical server.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving data comprises receiving data for a first time from the disparate medical device without upgrading software on the medical device or the disparate medical device.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving data comprises configuring a medical port from information received from a memory in a connector to the medical port from the disparate medical device.

6. A medical device comprising:

one or more processors configured to execute instructions in order to;

designate a patient on the medical device;

receive data from a plurality of different medical devices, each device monitoring the patient or associated with the patient at a monitoring facility; and

associate the data with the patient.

7. The medical device of claim 6, wherein the designating comprises selecting from a list of patients at the caregiver facility, the list acquired from the facility'"'"'s electronic devices.

8. The medical device of claim 6, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to execute instructions in order to:

output the data associated with the patient to a medical server.

9. The medical device of claim 6, wherein the receiving data comprises receiving data for a first time from the disparate medical device without upgrading software on the medical device or the disparate medical device.

10. The medical device of claim 6, wherein the receiving data comprises configuring a medical port from information received from a memory in a connector to the medical port from the disparate medical device.
