Abstract

An NFC-enabled digital apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a touch screen display and a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller. In response to tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC terminal, an NFC communication channel is established between the NFC enabled-digital apparatus and the external NFC terminal for data communication therebetween.

Claims

1. An NFC-enabled digital apparatus comprising:

a touch screen display; and

a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller, the NFC module configured to establish an NFC communication channel for NFC-based communication between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal,

wherein the apparatus is configured;

to display a plurality of selectable pieces of information on the touch screen display,

to receive, on the touch screen display, a user selection of a first one among the plurality of selectable pieces displayed on the touch screen display,

in response to the user selection of the first piece, to display a first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece, and

to make a first datum corresponding to the first image available at the NFC module while the first image is displayed on the touch screen display such that the first tag datum is transmitted from the NFC-enabled digital apparatus to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel established in response to a tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal.

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection.

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

5. A method of NFC-based information transmission, the method comprising:

providing the NFC-enabled digital apparatus of claim 1;

displaying the plurality of selectable pieces including the first piece on the touch screen display;

receiving, on the touch screen display, a user selection of the first piece among the plurality of selectable pieces displayed on the touch screen display;

in response to the user selection of the first piece, displaying the first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece;

making the first tag datum corresponding to the first image available at the NFC module while the first image is displayed on the touch screen display; and

transmitting the first tag datum from the NFC-enabled digital apparatus to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel established in response to a tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal.

The method of claim 5, wherein the method further comprises receiving acknowledgement of the first external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the plurality of selectable pieces are displayed together on the touch screen display.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein when displaying the first piece, at least one additional piece of the plurality of selectable pieces is displayed together on the touch screen display.

9. The method of claim 5, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding tag datum that is to be made available at the NFC module when its corresponding selectable piece is selected on the touch screen display.

10. The method of claim 5, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the digital information display in response to a user selection thereof.

11. An NFC-enabled digital apparatus comprising:

a touch screen display;

a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller, the NFC module configured to detect a tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal and to establish an NFC communication channel for NFC-based communication between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal;

a plurality of selectable pieces of information stored in the NFC-enabled digital apparatus, wherein upon selection of one of the plurality of selectable piece, the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is configured to initiate a process for NFC communication relating to the selected piece;

a default setting stored in the NFC-enabled digital apparatus, wherein the default setting is to select a first one of the plurality of selectable pieces in the absence of a user'"'"'s selection,

wherein the apparatus is configured;

to select the first piece in accordance with the default setting in the absence of a user selection of one of the plurality of selectable pieces,

upon selection of the first piece in accordance with the default setting, to display a first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece, and

to make a first datum corresponding to the first image available at the NFC module while the first image is displayed on the touch screen display such that the first datum is transmitted from the NFC-enabled digital apparatus to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel in response to detecting the tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal while the first datum is available at the NFC module.

The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection.

The apparatus of claim 11, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

15. A method of NFC-based information transmission, the method comprising:

providing the NFC-enabled digital apparatus of claim 11;

selecting the first piece in accordance with the default setting in the absence of a user selection of one of the plurality of selectable pieces;

upon selection of the first piece in accordance with the default setting, displaying a first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece;

making a first datum corresponding to the first image available at the NFC module while the first image is displayed on the touch screen display;

detecting a tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal while the first datum is available at the NFC module; and

subsequent to detecting, transmitting the first datum from the NFC-enabled digital apparatus to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel established following the detection of the tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the method further comprises receiving acknowledgement of the first external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein when displaying the first piece, at least one additional piece of the plurality of selectable pieces is displayed together on the touch screen display.

19. The method of claim 15, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding tag datum that is to be made available at the NFC module when its corresponding selectable piece is selected on the touch screen display.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the digital information display in response to the user'"'"'s selection.

28. The method of claim 15, wherein when displaying the first piece, at least one additional piece of the plurality of selectable pieces is displayed together on the touch screen display.

29. The method of claim 15, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding tag datum that is to be made available at the NFC module when its corresponding selectable piece is selected on the touch screen display.

30. The method of claim 15, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the digital information display in response to the user'"'"'s selection.

21. An NFC-enabled digital apparatus comprising:

a touch screen display;

a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller, the NFC module configured to detect a tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal and to establish an NFC communication channel for NFC-based communication between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and an external NFC-enabled terminal;

a plurality of selectable pieces of information stored in the NFC-enabled digital apparatus, wherein upon selection of one of the plurality of selectable piece, the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is configured to initiate a process for NFC communication relating to the selected piece;

a default setting stored in the NFC-enabled digital apparatus, wherein the default setting is to select a first one of the plurality of selectable pieces in the absence of a user'"'"'s selection,

wherein the apparatus is configured;

to select the first piece in accordance with the default setting upon detecting a tagging between the NFC enabled-digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal without a user selection of one of the plurality of selectable pieces,

upon selection of the first piece in accordance with the default setting, to display a first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece, and

to transmit a first datum corresponding to the first image to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel established following detection of the tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal.

The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection.

The apparatus of claim 21, wherein each of the plurality of selectable pieces has a corresponding image for displaying on the touch screen display in response to the user'"'"'s selection, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

24. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the NFC-enabled digital apparatus is further configured to receive acknowledgement of the external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

25. A method of NFC-based information transmission, the method comprising:

providing the NFC-enabled digital apparatus of claim 21;

detecting a tagging between the NFC enabled-digital apparatus and the external NFC terminal;

in response to detection of the tagging, selecting the first piece in accordance with the default setting in the absence of a user selection of one of the plurality of selectable pieces;

upon selection of the first piece in accordance with the default setting, displaying a first image associated with the first piece on the touch screen display to confirm the selection of the first piece;

transmitting a first datum corresponding to the first image to the external NFC-enabled terminal via the NFC communication channel established following the detection of the tagging between the NFC-enabled digital apparatus and the external NFC-enabled terminal.

26. The method of claim 25, wherein the method further comprises receiving acknowledgement of the first external NFC-enabled terminal'"'"'s receipt of the first tag datum.

27. The method of claim 25, wherein the first tag datum corresponding to the first image is configured for the external NFC-enabled terminal to access additional data related to the first image on the external NFC-enabled terminal.
