Abstract

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media described herein provide crowdsourced condition data for display in a mobile application of a mobile device associated with a first traveler. The crowdsourced condition data may relate to a physical condition of relevance at a security checkpoint, where the physical condition of relevance provides a basis for an observation about a physical state of the security checkpoint and the physical state is relevant to the first traveler. The crowdsourced condition data may be based on a plurality of observations of the condition of relevance that has been provided by a plurality of second travelers.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, in a mobile application executing on a mobile device associated with a first traveler, first positional data representing a first physical location associated with the first traveler;

generating a comparison by comparing the first positional data of the first traveler with second positional data, the second positional data representing to a second physical location corresponding to a security checkpoint in a secure facility;

identifying, using the comparison, a given distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint, the given distance representing a physical distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint;

identifying a physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint, the physical condition of relevance providing a basis for an observation about a physical state of the security checkpoint, the physical state being relevant to the first traveler;

gathering crowdsourced condition data related to the condition of relevance, the crowdsourced condition data being based on a plurality of observations related to the condition of relevance and provided by a plurality of second travelers; and

configuring the mobile application to display the crowdsourced condition data, thereby providing the first traveler with a measure of the physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mobile application is configured to provide the first positional data in response to the first traveler being at the given distance of the security checkpoint.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the first positional data is gathered, at least in part, using a geography based transmitter coupled to the mobile device, the geography based transmitter being configured to provide the first positional data of the first user.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3, wherein the geography based transmitter comprises one or more of a Global Positioning System (GPS) transmitter, and a Bluetooth transmitter.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the physical condition of relevance comprises an estimated wait time for the security checkpoint.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein the crowdsourced condition data comprises a numerical estimate of the estimated wait time, or one or more timed passages through the security checkpoint provided by the plurality of second travelers.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the physical condition of relevance comprises an environmental condition of the security checkpoint, the environmental condition being related to safety or cleanliness of the security checkpoint.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7, wherein the crowdsourced condition data comprises an account of whether or not there is trash near the security checkpoint, conditions of furnishings near the security checkpoint, or a maintenance condition of the security checkpoint.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the physical condition of relevance comprises an administrative condition of the security checkpoint, the administrative condition being related to how security screening personnel are administering the security checkpoint.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9, wherein the crowdsourced condition data comprises an account of how the security screening personnel are acting at the security checkpoint.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of second travelers are laypersons without formal training in describing the physical condition of relevance.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the physical condition of relevance is related to a temporal component, the temporal component limiting the physical condition of relevance to a specific time window.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising providing instructions to the mobile application to display a graphical menu, the graphical menu allowing selection of an identifier of the security checkpoint from the first traveler.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 13, wherein the graphical menu provides the first traveler with a request to enroll in one or more services to facilitate travel management for the first traveler.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the crowdsourced condition data is gathered from mobile phones of the plurality of second travelers.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mobile device comprises a mobile phone of the first traveler.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the security checkpoint is in an airport.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mobile application is displayed on a touchscreen interface of the mobile device, the touchscreen interface being configured to receive one or more control gestures from the first traveler.

19. A system comprising:

memory;

one or more physical processors coupled to the memory, the one or more physical processors configured by computer-readable instructions to perform a computer-implemented method, the computer-implemented method comprising;

receiving, in a mobile application executing on a mobile device associated with a first traveler, first positional data representing a first physical location associated with the first traveler;

generating a comparison by comparing the first positional data of the first traveler with second positional data, the second positional data representing to a second physical location corresponding to a security checkpoint in a secure facility;

identifying, using the comparison, a given distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint, the given distance representing a physical distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint;

identifying a physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint, the physical condition of relevance providing a basis for an observation about a physical state of the security checkpoint, the physical state being relevant to the first traveler;

gathering crowdsourced condition data related to the condition of relevance, the crowdsourced condition data being based on a plurality of observations related to the condition of relevance and provided by a plurality of second travelers; and

configuring the mobile application to display the crowdsourced condition data, thereby providing the first traveler with a measure of the physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having embodied thereon a program, the program being executable by a processor for performing a computer-implemented method, the computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, in a mobile application executing on a mobile device associated with a first traveler, first positional data representing a first physical location associated with the first traveler;

generating a comparison by comparing the first positional data of the first traveler with second positional data, the second positional data representing to a second physical location corresponding to a security checkpoint in a secure facility;

identifying, using the comparison, a given distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint, the given distance representing a physical distance between the first traveler and the security checkpoint;

identifying a physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint, the physical condition of relevance providing a basis for an observation about a physical state of the security checkpoint, the physical state being relevant to the first traveler;

gathering crowdsourced condition data related to the condition of relevance, the crowdsourced condition data being based on a plurality of observations related to the condition of relevance and provided by a plurality of second travelers; and

configuring the mobile application to display the crowdsourced condition data, thereby providing the first traveler with a measure of the physical condition of relevance of the security checkpoint.
