Abstract

The present invention is directed to a system and method of distributing information and instructions for a wearable device, and for improving communication between players and coaches during a sporting event, more specifically allowing players to dynamically receive real-time communications from their coaches concerning game information and or instruction during the game. The wearable device incorporates a plastic flexible display screen for viewing information and instructions. These flexible displays screens are cited as being “unbreakable”, because they are made completely of a thin conductive plastic substrates, and do not contain glass. Additionally, touch cell technology uses resistors to adjust the sensitivity of the detector cell which allows an actual touch to be detected on the flexible plastic display of the wearable device, which is designed to operate accurately and reliably in harsh environments.

Claims

1. A system of distributing information and instructions comprising of:

(a) a method configured for send and receive information such as game play instructions from a computer or a portable remote terminal.

(b) and a programmed application executable on said computer or portable remote from which information and game play instruction may be inputted via a user interface and communicated wirelessly;

wherein the programmed application is configured with pre-stored data ready to be encrypted by a signal containing a game play instruction intended for execution on a field during a game. The game play instruction includes but is not limited to the following;

game instructions, game strategies, a specific play, location information and/or any other allowable game play instructions that may be communicated to a player on/off the field by a roach or another player during a game.

(c) referenced herein the computer/portable remote terminal may include a digital audio converter, used to convert the encrypted and/or decrypted signal containing the game play instruction in digital data format. The converted data containing said game play instruction may be transmitted to any one of the following;

one, two, a plurality, or all wearable devices provided to teammates.

(d) wherein said system may be used for any one or more of the following games, which includes but is not limited to;

football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, paintball and basketball.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a flexible plastic display configured for viewing said received decrypted signal containing game play instruction intended for execution on the field during said game,

. The sensors can use an analog input on a microcontroller (with a pullup resistor) or a digital input with the use of a 0.1 uF capacitor for RC timing that could detect both convex and concave bending.

4. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

a flexible plastic display input functionality. Bending, lightness, and thinness are obvious positive attributes that also relate to a flexible plastic display.

5. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

a touch signature sensor designed to indicate, capture and use information from the electric field of the protective lens, HSS technology uses a larger area above the surface of the display screen to capture and process more information from the electric field. HSS measures not only when an object or finger breaks the field, but also at what speed it is traveling, when it stops, and its final position on the x and y axes. By capturing that data, it can distinguish between a finger and a splash of water or other accidental touch. Additionally, without using thresholds, signature sensors can distinguish a touch from a variance that causes capacitive thresholds to false trigger.

6. The system of claim 5, a controller coupled to said touch signature sensor, said controller configured to:

selectively display only a portion of the list of plays based on the received event information, wherein said touch signature sensor is configured to associate data received with at least one of the plays in the list of plays.

7. The system of claim 2, a flexible plastic display is enclosed around a thin rubber like frame, which is webbed into a wearable devices fabric using strong durable threads

8. The system a claim 2, further comprising, a wearable device;

(a) a flexible material configured and sized to secure around a wearer;

for a system and method of transmitting and receiving secure information and/or instructions in real-time during the game in a format that may be readily received and easily available.

(b) wherein wearable device is formed from a semi-rigid material for preventing breakage, damage and injury to the wearer.

(c) and is capable of absorbing shock associated with any one or more of the following;

football tackle, kick, sliding into base, hit by a pitch, a bat, a batted ball, a clubbed ball and/or heavy body contact.

9. The device of claim 8 wherein the wearable device comprises one of the following:

a wristband, a sport specific glove, or any other apparel used in the arts.

10. The system of claim 8 wherein the wristband or glove'"'"'s viewing screen further comprises a means for a player to respond to information received on the viewing screen.

The system of claim 8 wherein the wearable device referenced herein may include a digital audio converter, used to convert the encrypted and/or decrypted signal containing the game play instruction in digital data format. The converted data containing said game play instruction may be transmitted to any one of the following:

one, two, a plurality, or all wearable devices provided to teammates.

The system of claim 8 wherein the wearable device referenced herein may include programmable buttons positioned for touch screen operation that are configured for controlling the display of the received game play instruction, providing feedback to the sender of the game play instruction or configured for transmitting the player'"'"'s current information to other players within the group.

13. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein said converted viewable game play instruction may be displayed in any one of the following formats:

text, sketch and visual.
