Abstract

A display device with a touch detecting function includes wiring for touch arranged in a peripheral area positioned on the outside of a display area, and a selection switch that selects one of drive electrodes to be coupled to the wiring for touch. A drive electrode scanning unit selects one of drive electrodes and includes a plurality of transfer circuits in the peripheral area. Part of the transfer circuits is a transfer circuit that performs output to the selection switch.

Claims

1. A display device comprising:

a first drive electrode and a second drive electrode arranged in a display area;

a touch detection electrode opposed to the first and second drive electrodes;

a first wiring that is arranged in a peripheral area positioned outside of the display area and is configured to supply an alternating-current signal;

a first selection switch connected between the first drive electrode and the first wiring, and a second selection switch connected between the second drive electrode and the first wiring; and

a drive electrode scanning unit configured to control the first and second selection switches,

wherein the drive electrode scanning unit includes a first sift register configured to control the first selection switch, a second sift register configured to control the second selection switch, and a third shift register connected to the first shift register and second sift register.

2. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the first, second, and third shift registers are arranged side by side in a direction in which the first wiring extends.

3. The display device according to claim 1, wherein an output of the first shift register is supplied to the third shift register, and an output of the third shift register is supplied to the second shift register.

4. The display device according to claim 2, wherein a control signal is supplied to the first, second, and third shift registers.

5. The display device according to claim 1, further comprising a plurality of scanning signal lines in the display area, and a transfer circuit configured to control the plurality of scanning signal lines,

wherein the transfer circuit is arranged in the peripheral area, and the first, second, and third shift registers are arranged between the transfer circuit and the display area.

6. The display device according to claim 1, further comprising a control device configured to supply a drive voltage for display and the alternating-current signal to the first wiring in different time periods.

7. The display device according to claim 2,

wherein the first drive electrode is arranged next to the second drive electrode.
