METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR INFORMATION CAPTURE AND PRESENTATION
First Claim
1. A method for use in a system comprising at least one computer processor, the method comprising acts of:
- (A) the at least one computer processor receiving an indication, from a user device operated by a user, of a capture of first information relating to an experience of the user;
(B) the at least one computer processor determining, using at least one location determination component, a location of the user device at a time when the indication is received;
(C) the at least one computer processor causing capture, by at least one information capture component that is separate from the user device, of second information, different than the first information, relating to the experience of the user;
(D) the at least one computer processor causing the first information and the second information to be stored, the act of storing comprising associating the first information and the second information with at least one of the user, the experience, the location and the time; and
(E) providing access to the user to the first information and the second information relating to the experience of the user.

Abstract
Embodiments of the invention are directed to capturing, recording and sharing information relating to a user'"'"'s important or memorable experiences. The capture of information relating to an experience may be initiated automatically, manually and/or using some combination of automatic and manual techniques, and the information may comprise video, audio and/or photos of the user and/or the experience, metadata describing aspects of the experience, information accessible via the World Wide Web, an indication of friends and associates in proximity to the user during the experience, and/or any other suitable information. Information relating to one user'"'"'s experiences may be made accessible to other users, so as to create shared experiences and deepen social connections between users. Users may thus “bookmark” important or memorable life experiences, keep a record of information relating to those experiences, and share that information with others.

16. At least one computer-readable storage medium having instructions encoded thereon which, when executed by at least one computer processor in a system comprising at least one location determination component, at least one information capture component, and at least one bookmarking server, cause the at least one processor to perform a method comprising acts of:
-
(A) receiving an indication, from a user device, of a capture of first information relating to an experience of a user of the user device; (B) determining a location of the user device at a time when the indication is received; (C) causing capture of second information, different than the first information, relating to the experience of the user; (D) causing the first information and the second information to be stored, the act of storing comprising associating the first information and the second information with at least one of the user, the experience, the location and the time; and (E) providing access to the user to the first information and the second information relating to the experience of the user.

17. Apparatus, comprising:
-
at least one communications device, configured to receive a transmission from a user device operated by a user; at least one information capture device, separate from the user device, configured to capture information; at least one storage device, configured to store and provide access to information captured by the user device and the at least one information capture device; at least one computer-readable storage medium having instructions encoded thereon; and at least one computer processor, programmed via the instructions to; receive an indication, from the user device via the at least one communications device, of a capture of first information relating to an experience of a user of the user device; determine, based at least in part on information provided by the at least one communications device, a location of the user device at a time when the indication is received; cause capture, by the at least one information capture device, of second information, different than the first information, relating to the experience of the user; cause the first information and the second information to be stored by the at least one storage device, the storing comprising associating the first information and the second information with at least one of the user, the experience, the location and the time; and cause the at least one storage device to provide access to the user to the first information and the second information relating to the experience of the user. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
