Abstract

An information processing apparatus according to the present invention is directed to enabling recognition of omission of a log file in a case where a part of the log file is omitted when the log file of a log collection server is remotely checked, and the information processing apparatus includes a first transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit log information to a log collection server, a generation unit configured to generate statistic information about transmission of the log information by the first transmission control unit, and a second transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit the statistic information to the log collection server.

Claims

1. An information processing apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory coupled to the at least one processor which act as:

a first transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit log information to a log collection server;

a generation unit configured to generate statistic information about transmission of the log information by the first transmission control unit; and

a second transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit to the log collection server the statistic information generated by the generation unit.

2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1,

wherein the at least one processor and the at least one memory further act as a reception unit configured to receive from a monitoring server a transmission instruction to transmit the log information, and

wherein, in a case where the reception unit receives the transmission instruction, the first transmission control unit performs control to transmit the log information to the log collection server.

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the first transmission control unit performs control to periodically transmit the log information to the log collection server.

4. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second transmission control unit performs control to generate the statistic information using a buffer of the information processing apparatus and to transmit the generated statistic information to the log collection server.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein, in a case where a response to the log information transmitted by the first transmission control unit is received from the log collection server, the second transmission control unit performs control to transmit the statistic information to the log collection server, and, in a case where no response to the log information transmitted by the first transmission control unit is received from the log collection server, the second transmission control unit performs control to transmit the statistic information to a monitoring server.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein, in a case where the statistic information is to be transmitted to the log collection server, the second transmission control unit performs control to transmit the statistic information to the log collection server according to Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) protocol, and, in a case where the statistic information is to be transmitted to the monitoring server, the second transmission control unit performs control to transmit the statistic information to the monitoring server according to Extensible Markup Language-based Simple Object Access Protocol (XML/SOAP).

7. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the generation unit generates the statistic information including a cause of a latest error of unsuccessful transmission of the log information.

8. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein, in a case where the first transmission control unit periodically transmits the log information to the log collection server, the generation unit generates the statistic information including a date and a time in a name.

9. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein, in a case where a size of the log information to be transmitted to the log collection server is limited, the generation unit generates the statistic information including a size of untransmitted log information.

10. A system including a log collection server and an information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory coupled to the at least one processor which act as:

a first transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit log information to the log collection server;

a generation unit configured to generate statistic information about transmission of the log information by the first transmission control unit; and

a second transmission control unit configured to perform control to transmit the statistic information to the log collection server, and

the log collection server comprising at least one processor and at least one memory coupled to the at least one processor which act as;

a first reception unit configured to receive the log information from the information processing apparatus; and

a second reception unit configured to receive the statistic information from the information processing apparatus.

11. The system according to claim 10, further comprising a monitoring server,

wherein the at least one processor and the at least one memory of the information processing apparatus further act as a reception unit configured to receive from the monitoring server a transmission instruction to transmit the log information, and

wherein, in a case where the reception unit receives the transmission instruction, the first transmission control unit transmits the log information to the log collection server.

12. An information processing method executed by an information processing apparatus, the information processing method comprising:

transmitting log information to a log collection server;

generating statistic information about transmission of the log information; and

transmitting the statistic information to the log collection server.

13. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program that causes a computer to execute:

transmitting log information to a log collection server;

generating statistic information about transmission of the log information; and

transmitting the statistic information to the log collection server.
