21. A method comprising:

receiving a ride vehicle through an entrance at a first end of a tunnel having a shape that is curved such that a second end of the tunnel is not visible from an intermediate position disposed between the entrance and the second end along a ride path in the tunnel; and projecting images on or moving set pieces along one or more walls of the tunnel to create an illusion of speed as the ride vehicle decelerates from the entrance to the intermediate position and while the ride vehicle is stationary at the intermediate position.
