Abstract

A method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting display apparatus includes: arranging a mask on a substrate, the mask having an opening corresponding to a pattern of an organic emission layer; forming the organic emission layer by disposing an inkjet roller on the mask, and discharging inks from ink headers mounted in the inkjet roller through the opening of the mask, by rotating the inkjet roller; and curing the organic emission layer.

Claims

1. A method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting display apparatus, the method comprising:

arranging a mask on a substrate, the mask having an opening corresponding to a pattern of an organic emission layer;

forming the organic emission layer by;

disposing an inkjet roller on the mask; and

discharging inks from ink headers mounted in the inkjet roller, through the opening of the mask, by rotating the inkjet roller; and

curing the organic emission layer.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising discharging the inks onto the substrate by transporting the substrate in one direction.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the substrate is rigid.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the substrate is flexible.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein:

a first roller and a second roller are provided at a front end and a rear end of the inkjet roller, and

the substrate is unrolled from the first roller and transported to the inkjet roller,

the inks are discharged onto the substrate by using the inkjet roller, and

the substrate is rolled onto the second roller.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein inks of different colors are discharged through the ink headers and onto the substrate from the inkjet roller.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the inks of different colors correspond to colors of the organic emission layer.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein:

the ink headers are spaced apart from each other on an outer circumferential surface of the inkjet roller, and

the inks of different colors are sequentially discharged onto the substrate while the inkjet roller rotates.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the inks of different colors are discharged from the ink headers, through the opening of the mask, and onto the substrate.

10. The method of claim 7, wherein an ink of a same color is simultaneously loaded onto sub-pixels arranged in a same line of the substrate.

11. The method of claim 7, wherein the ink headers are correspondingly connected to ink storage tanks by a connection unit and discharge inks of corresponding colors onto the substrate according to a signal of a control unit.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the inks are discharged at a normal temperature and pressure.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the inks discharged onto the substrate are cured by ultraviolet light.

14. A device for manufacturing an organic light-emitting display apparatus, the device comprising:

a mask mounted on a substrate;

an inkjet roller arranged on the substrate, the inkjet roller comprising an ink header configured to discharge ink onto the substrate through an opening of the mask;

an ink storage tank connected to the ink header by a connection unit; and

a control unit configured to control the ink discharged onto the substrate from the ink header.

15. The device of claim 14, wherein:

the ink header comprises ink headers configured to discharge the ink corresponding to an organic emission layer disposed on the substrate, and

the ink headers are spaced apart from each other along an outer circumferential surface of s the inkjet roller.

16. The device of claim 14, wherein:

the connection unit comprises connection pipes mounted in an inner space of the inkjet roller and connected to ink headers for colors corresponding to an organic emission layer on the substrate, and connection tanks mounted inside a central axis of the inkjet roller, connected to the connection pipes, and supplied with inks of different colors from the ink storage tank.

17. The device of claim 16, wherein:

the ink storage tank comprises multiple inkjet storage tanks mounted outside a side surface of the inkjet roller and connected to the connection tanks for each color corresponding to the organic emission layer.

18. The device of claim 14, wherein ink headers configured to discharge inks of different colors onto the substrate are mounted in a single inkjet roller.

19. The device of claim 14, wherein a curing unit configured to cure the ink discharged onto the substrate is disposed adjacent to the inkjet roller.

20. The device of claim 14, wherein rollers configured to transport the substrate in a roll-to-roll method are mounted at a front end and a rear end of the inkjet roller.
