Abstract

A display device includes a display panel, and an electrostatic capacitive type touch panel which is formed in an overlapping manner with the display panel. A plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes intersecting with the X electrodes. A first signal line supplies signals to the X electrodes, a second signal line supplies signals to the Y electrodes, and the first signal line and the second signal line are formed on a flexible printed circuit board. A dummy electrode is formed adjacent to an electrode portion of each X electrode and electrode portion of each Y electrode, the dummy electrode does not overlap the X electrode and the Y electrode, and the dummy electrode does not electrically connect with the first and second signal lines.

Claims

1. An electrostatic capacitive type touch panel comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes formed on the substrate,

a plurality of first signal lines electrically connecting the plurality of X electrodes or the plurality of Y electrodes;

a plurality of first connection terminals of the plurality of first signal lines;

a flexible printed circuit board having a plurality of a second signal lines, a plurality of second connection terminals, and a plurality of third connection terminals,

wherein the second connection terminal is electrically connected with the third connection terminal respectively by the plurality of second signal lines,

wherein the plurality of second connection terminals is disposed above the plurality of first connection terminal and electrically connected with the plurality of first connection terminals respectively,

wherein the flexible printed circuit board having a plurality of conductive layers which includes the plurality of second signal lines, and are electrically connected each other by a through hole,

wherein the substrate has a floating electrode which is formed between the X electrode and the Y electrode.

2. The electrostatic capacitive type touch panel according to claim 1, wherein the floating electrode does not overlap with the X electrode and the Y electrode.

3. A display device according to claim 1, wherein either one of the X electrode and the Y electrode is made of a transparent conductive film.

4. A display device according to claim 1, wherein the X electrode and the Y electrode are transparent conductive films which are formed with an insulation film sandwiched therebetween.

5. A display device according to claim 1, wherein the X electrode and the Y electrode are transparent conductive films which are formed with an insulating film sandwiched therebetween and the dummy electrode which is a transparent conductive film formed on the same layer as the X and Y electrode.

6. An electrostatic capacitive type touch panel comprising:

a substrate having a substantially rectangular shape with a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides;

a plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes are formed on the substrate,

a plurality of first signal lines electrically connecting the plurality of X electrodes or the plurality of Y electrodes;

a plurality of first connection terminals of the plurality of first signal line; and

a flexible printed circuit board having a plurality of second signal lines, a plurality of second connection terminals, and a plurality of third connection terminals being electrically connected with the second connection terminals respectively by the plurality of second signal lines; and

a shielding line surrounding the plurality of second signal lines,

wherein the plurality of second connection terminal is overlapped with the plurality of first connection terminal and electrically connected with the plurality of first connection terminal respectively,

wherein the number of the plurality of third connection terminals is less than that of the plurality of second connection terminals,

wherein the flexible printed circuit board having plurality of conductive layers which includes the plurality of second signal lines and the shielding line.

7. The electrostatic capacitive type touch panel according to claim 6, wherein a floating electrode is formed adjacent the X electrode.

8. The electrostatic capacitive type touch panel according to claim 6, wherein either one of the X electrode and the Y electrode is formed of a transparent conductive film.

9. The electrostatic capacitive type touch panel according to claim 6, wherein the X electrode and the Y electrode are transparent conductive films which are formed with an insulation film sandwiched therebetween.

10. The electrostatic capacitive type touch panel according to claim 6, wherein the X electrode and the Y electrode are transparent conductive films which are formed with an insulation film sandwiched therebetween, and a floating electrode which is formed adjacent the X electrode is a transparent conductive film formed on the same layer as the X electrode.
