Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing a multi-action button for mobile devices are provided. Alerts are received and multi-action buttons are determined corresponding to the alerts and clinicians associated with mobile devices. The multi-action buttons are displayed on the mobile devices.

Claims

1. One or more non-transitory computer storage media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform a method that facilitates providing a multi-action interface for mobile devices, the method comprising:

receiving an alert at a mobile device associated with a clinician;

displaying a multi-action user interface on the mobile device, wherein the multi-action user interface includes two or more action buttons having segmented functionality;

receiving a selection of at least one action button via the multi-action user interface; and

executing a functionality corresponding to the selected at least one action button.

2. The media of claim 1, wherein the two or more action buttons comprise two or more of:

a reject alert button, an accept alert button, an accept and call button, and a text message button.

3. The media of claim 1, wherein the selected at least one action button is a text message button.

4. The media of claim 3, wherein the text message button corresponds to a text messaging functionality, that when executed, initiates a text messaging application for generating a text message associated with the alert.

5. The media of claim 4, wherein the text message comprises an automatically prepared text message that is generated based on the content of the alert.

6. The media of claim 4, wherein the text message button further corresponds to an alert acceptance functionality.

7. The media of claim 1, wherein the multi-action user interface comprises an indication of a proximity of other clinicians to the patient.

8. The media of claim 7, wherein the functionality executed comprises communicating the alert to another clinician having a closest proximity to the patient.

9. The media of claim 1, wherein the multi-action user interface comprises an indication of an availability status associated with other clinicians.

10. The media of claim 9, wherein the functionality executed comprises communicating the alert to another clinician having an availability status of available.

11. The media of claim 1, wherein the multi-action user interface comprises an indication of another clinician associated with the executed functionality.

12. A computer system to facilitate providing a multi-action button for mobile devices, the computer system comprising a processor coupled to a non-transitory computer storage medium, the non-transitory computer storage medium having stored thereon a plurality of computer software components executable by the processor, the computer software components comprising:

an alert component for receiving an alert on a mobile device associated with a clinician;

a multi-action button component for determining a multi-action user interface comprising two or more multi-action buttons; and

a display component for displaying the multi-action user interface on the mobile device, the multi-action user interface comprising at least two segments for displaying the two or more multi-action buttons, wherein the display component is configured to receive a selection of at least one multi-action button of the two or more multi-action buttons and provide a distinct function associated with the selected at least one multi-action button.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the selected at least one multi-action button is associated with a text messaging function.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the multi-action button component determines the two or more multi-action buttons integrated into the multi-action user interface based on the alert.

15. The system of claim 12, wherein the multi-action button component determines the two or more multi-action buttons integrated into the multi-action user interface based on a proximity or location associated with other clinicians.

16. The system of claim 12, wherein the multi-action button component determines the two or more multi-action buttons integrated into the multi-action user interface based on an availability status associated with other clinicians.

17. Non-transitory computer storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed, produce a multi-action graphical user interface (GUI) for mobile devices, the GUI comprising:

an alert display area that displays an alert on a mobile device associated with a clinician; and

a multi-action display area that displays a multi-action button that corresponds to the alert, wherein the multi-action button comprises at least two segments, wherein, upon selection by the clinician, each of the at least two segments is configured to provide a distinct function.

18. The media of claim 17, wherein the GUI further comprises a patient display area that displays information associated with a patient corresponding to the alert.

19. The media of claim 17, wherein the GUI further comprises a reject display area that displays a reject button for rejecting the alert and causing the alert to be communicated or escalated to another clinician.

20. The media of claim 17, wherein the at least two segments comprise a first and second segment, wherein the first segment, upon selection by the clinician, is configured to initiate a call to another physician, and wherein the second segment, upon selection by the clinician, is configured to open a text message application for communicating a text message associated with the alert.
