Abstract

An example computer-implemented method to translate a namespace includes receiving a first synchronization request associated with a first content item. This first synchronization request can include a first content item path and come from a client device. The example method can then include determining that a portion of the first content item path matches an entry path in an entry in a namespace mount table. The entry can include a second namespace. The example method can then include modifying the first synchronization request by removing the portion of the first content item path and including the second namespace in the first synchronization request. The example method can then include sending the first synchronization request to a content management system.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method comprising:

receiving, from a client device, a first synchronization request associated with a first content item, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first content item path;

determining that a portion of the first content item path matches an entry path in an entry in a namespace mount table, wherein the entry includes a second namespace;

modifying the first synchronization request to;

remove the portion of the first content item path; and

include the second namespace; and

sending the first synchronization request to a content management system.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first namespace, the method further comprising removing the first namespace from the first synchronization request.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to rename a collection, the instruction including a new collection name and an old collection name;

determining that a portion of the entry path points to the collection, the entry path including the old collection name;

replacing the old collection name in the entry path with the new collection name; and

sending the second synchronization request to the content management system.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determining that a portion of the entry path matches the old collection path;

replacing the portion of the entry path with the new collection path; and

sending the second synchronization request to the content management system.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determining that the entry path matches a portion of the old collection path;

removing the portion of the old collection path;

modifying the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is associated with the second namespace;

determining that the entry path does not match a portion of the new collection path;

modifying the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is not associated with the second namespace; and

sending the second synchronization request to the content management system.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving a second synchronization request from the content management system, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to unmount the second namespace; and

sending an instruction to the client device to recursively delete a collection described by the entry path.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, from the content management system, a second synchronization request associated with a second content item, wherein the second synchronization request includes the second namespace and a second path, wherein the second path describes the location of the second content item within the second namespace;

determining that the second namespace is described in the entry;

modifying the second synchronization request to;

prepend the entry path to the second path; and

remove the second namespace; and

sending the second synchronization request to the client device.

8. A computer-readable medium storing non-transitory computer executable instructions for causing a computer to:

receive, from a client device, a first synchronization request associated with a first content item, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first content item path;

determine that a portion of the first content item path matches an entry path in an entry in a namespace mount table, wherein the entry includes a second namespace;

modify the first synchronization request to;

remove the portion of the first content item path; and

include the second namespace; and

send the first synchronization request to a content management system.

9. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first namespace, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to remove the first namespace from the first synchronization request.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to rename a collection, the instruction including a new collection name and an old collection name;

determine that a portion of the entry path points to the collection, the entry path including the old collection name;

replace the old collection name in the entry path with the new collection name; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

11. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determine that a portion of the entry path matches the old collection path;

replace the portion of the entry path with the new collection path; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

12. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determine that the entry path matches a portion of the old collection path;

remove the portion of the old collection path;

modify the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is associated with the second namespace;

determine that the entry path does not match a portion of the new collection path;

modify the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is not associated with the second namespace; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

13. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to:

receive a second synchronization request from the content management system, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to unmount the second namespace; and

send an instruction to the client device to recursively delete a collection described by the entry path.

14. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the non-transitory computer executable instructions further cause the computer to:

receive, from the content management system, a second synchronization request associated with a second content item, wherein the second synchronization request includes the second namespace and a second path, wherein the second path describes the location of the second content item within the second namespace;

determine that the second namespace is described in the entry;

modify the second synchronization request to;

prepend the entry path to the second path; and

remove the second namespace; and

send the second synchronization request to the client device.

15. A system comprising:

a processor;

a computer-readable medium; and

non-transitory computer-readable instructions, stored on the computer-readable medium, that when executed by the processor are effective to cause the system to;

receive, from a client device, a first synchronization request associated with a first content item, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first content item path;

determine that a portion of the first content item path matches an entry path in an entry in a namespace mount table, wherein the entry includes a second namespace;

modify the first synchronization request to;

remove the portion of the first content item path; and

include the second namespace; and

send the first synchronization request to a content management system.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the first synchronization request includes a first namespace, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable instructions are further effective to cause the system to remove the first namespace from the first synchronization request.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable instructions are further effective to cause the system to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to rename a collection, the instruction including a new collection name and an old collection name;

determine that a portion of the entry path points to the collection, the entry path including the old collection name;

replace the old collection name in the entry path with the new collection name; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable instructions are further effective to cause the system to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determine that a portion of the entry path matches the old collection path;

replace the portion of the entry path with the new collection path; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

19. The system of claim 15, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable instructions are further effective to cause the system to:

receive a second synchronization request from the client device, wherein the second synchronization request includes an instruction to move a collection, the instruction including a new collection path and an old collection path;

determine that the entry path matches a portion of the old collection path;

remove the portion of the old collection path;

modify the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is associated with the second namespace;

determine that the entry path does not match a portion of the new collection path;

modify the synchronization request to indicate that the old collection path is not associated with the second namespace; and

send the second synchronization request to the content management system.

20. The system of claim 15, wherein the non-transitory computer-readable instructions are further effective to cause the system to:

receive, from the content management system, a second synchronization request associated with a second content item, wherein the second synchronization request includes the second namespace and a second path, wherein the second path describes the location of the second content item within the second namespace;

determine that the second namespace is described in the entry;

modify the second synchronization request to;

prepend the entry path to the second path; and

remove the second namespace; and

send the second synchronization request to the client device.
