1. A method of controlling seat movement in a vehicle, comprising:

  • receiving a signal from at least one sensor positioned to detect movement of the vehicle;

    generating a command signal to instruct an actuator coupled to the seat to move the seat relative to a vehicle centerline;

    determining whether the command signal will cause the seat to exceed a limit;

    scaling the command signal to conform movement of the seat to movement of the floor of the vehicle within the limit; and

    providing a force command to the actuator to move the seat based on the scaled command signal.
