Abstract

A wireless node in a wireless network may transmit information indicating a first reception schedule and a second reception schedule. The first reception schedule and the second reception schedule may be used by other wireless nodes to determine a sequence of time intervals for reception. Data may be transmitted to the other wireless nodes based on the scheduled transmissions.

Claims

1. A wireless node in a wireless network, the wireless node comprising:

a transmitter;

a processor; and

the processor is configured to have the transmitter transmit a plurality of messages to a plurality of other wireless nodes, wherein each of the plurality of messages includes information indicating a first reception schedule and a second reception schedule, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule are used by the plurality of other wireless nodes to determine a sequence of time intervals for reception;

the processor is further configured to schedule transmissions to the plurality of other wireless nodes based on the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule; and

the processor is further configured to have the transmitter, based on the scheduled transmissions, to transmit data to the plurality of other wireless nodes.

2. The wireless node of claim 1 further comprising a memory, wherein the processor is configured to store in the memory information relating to the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule.

3. The wireless node of claim 1, wherein each time interval includes at least one time slot.

4. The wireless node of claim 1, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule coordinate powering down of reception circuitry.

5. The wireless node of claim 1, wherein the plurality of other wireless nodes are mobile devices.

6. A method performed by a wireless node in a wireless network, the method comprising:

transmitting, by a transmitter of the wireless node, a plurality of messages to a plurality of other wireless nodes, wherein each of the plurality of messages includes information indicating a first reception schedule and a second reception schedule, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule are used by the plurality of other wireless nodes to determine a sequence of time intervals for reception;

scheduling, by a processor of the wireless node, transmissions to the plurality of other wireless nodes based on the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule; and

transmitting, by the transmitter based on the scheduled transmissions, data to the plurality of other wireless nodes.

7. The method of claim 6 further comprising storing, by memory of the wireless node, information relating to the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein each time interval includes at least one time slot.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule coordinate powering down of reception circuitry.

10. The method of claim 6, wherein the plurality of other wireless nodes are mobile devices.

11. A wireless node in a wireless network, the wireless node comprising:

a transmitter;

a processor; and

the processor is configured to have the transmitter transmit messages to other wireless nodes, wherein each of the messages includes information indicating a first reception schedule and a second reception schedule, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule are used by the other wireless nodes to determine a sequence of time intervals for reception;

the processor is further configured to schedule transmissions to the other wireless nodes based on the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule; and

the processor is further configured to have the transmitter, based on the scheduled transmissions, to transmit data to the other wireless nodes.

12. The wireless node of claim 11 further comprising a memory, wherein the processor is configured to store in the memory information relating to the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule.

13. The wireless node of claim 11, wherein each time interval includes at least one time slot.

14. The wireless node of claim 11, wherein the first reception schedule and the second reception schedule coordinate powering down of reception circuitry.

15. The wireless node of claim 11, wherein the other wireless nodes are mobile devices.
