a battery; a memory; a transceiver configured to wirelessly communicate data related to the infusion pump to another device; a connector configured for interfacing with an external power source; and a processor configured to; collect and store the data in the memory; and control communication of the data to another device so as to reduce energy consumption of the battery by communicating only part of the stored data while the infusion pump is powered by the battery, and by communicating additional stored data upon connection of the infusion pump to an external power source via the connector.
