Abstract

Methods, devices, and systems for providing a standard operating procedure associated with a monitoring system of facility are described herein. One method includes determining a plurality of parameters associated with a facility having a monitoring system, accessing a library of SOP templates to determine a particular SOP template having a correlation with the plurality of parameters, allowing a user to create an SOP by customizing the particular SOP template, and associating the created SOP with the plurality of parameters.

Claims

1. A method for providing a standard operating procedure (SOP) associated with a monitoring system of facility, comprising:

determining a plurality of parameters associated with a facility having a monitoring system;

accessing a library of SOP templates to determine a particular SOP template having a correlation with the plurality of parameters;

allowing a user to create an SOP by customizing the particular SOP template; and

associating the created SOP with the plurality of parameters.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the monitoring system is a security system of the facility.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of parameters associated with the facility include:

a type of the facility;

a size of the facility; and

a purpose of the facility.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of parameters associated with the facility include:

a size of the monitoring system;

a security level of at least one area of the monitoring system; and

a structure of the monitoring system.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein determining the plurality of parameters associated with the facility includes categorizing the facility as one of a plurality of categories, and wherein accessing the library of SOP templates to determine the particular SOP template having the correlation with the plurality of parameters includes determining that the particular SOP template corresponds to one of the plurality of categories.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein each SOP template of the library of SOP templates includes a respective name, identifier, description, and category.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein each SOP template of the library of SOP templates is associated with a respective event in the facility.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the library is configured to be searched based on at least one of the plurality of parameters.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the method includes customizing the particular SOP template based on the parameters without any input made by a user.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein associating the created SOP with the plurality of parameters includes causing the created SOP to execute responsive to a determination of a particular event in the facility by the monitoring system.

11. A non-transitory computer readable medium having computer readable instructions stored thereon that are executable by a processor to:

determine an event using a monitoring system of a facility; and

execute a particular standard operating procedure (SOP) selected from a plurality of SOPs based on a type of the event, wherein the SOP includes;

a template portion previously selected from a library of SOP templates; and

a custom portion unique to the facility.

12. The computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to generate a report concerning the event responsive to the execution of the SOP.

13. The computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to receive inputs by a user during the execution of the particular SOP.

14. The computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the custom portion includes a portion determined based, at least in part, on a building information model associated with the facility.

15. The computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the custom portion is determined based, at least in part, on knowledge from a user regarding the facility and the monitoring system of the facility.

16. A computing device for providing a standard operating procedure (SOP) associated with a monitoring system of facility, comprising:

a display;

a memory; and

a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to;

display a plurality of steps of a standard operating procedure (SOP) associated with a particular event at a facility responsive to the event being detected at the facility, the SOP previously created using a generic SOP portion and a customized SOP portion;

display a rendering of a portion of the facility associated with the event responsive to the event being detected; and

display information relevant to the incident and the SOP responsive to the event being detected.

17. The computing device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to simultaneously display the plurality of steps of the SOP, the rendering, and the information relevant to the event and the SOP using a plurality of windows.

18. The computing device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to display the plurality of steps of the SOP using business process model and notation.

19. The computing device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to:

display the plurality of steps of the SOP via a first window of the display;

display the rendering via a second window of the display;

display the information relevant to the event and the SOP via a third window of the display; and

display a fourth window allowing user input to modify a view associated with the rendering.

20. The computing device of claim 16, wherein the processor is configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to highlight a particular security zone in the rendering corresponding to the event.
