Abstract

A method for operating a video display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: transmitting a voice acquisition command signal to at least one peripheral device connected to the video display device; receiving at least one voice signal for a user voice acquired by at least one peripheral device having received the voice acquisition command signal, and a voice signal for the user voice acquired by the video display device; comparing the plurality of acquired voice signals with each other; determining a voice signal subjected to voice recognition based on the comparison result; recognizing the user voice based on the determined voice signal; and performing a control operation corresponding to the recognized voice.

Claims

1. A method for operating a video display device, the method comprising:

transmitting a voice acquisition command signal to at least one peripheral device connected to the video display device;

receiving at least one voice signal for a user voice acquired by at least one peripheral device having received the voice acquisition command signal, and a voice signal for the user voice acquired by the video display device;

comparing the plurality of acquired voice signals with each other;

determining a voice signal subjected to voice recognition based on the comparison result;

recognizing the user voice based on the determined voice signal; and

performing a control operation corresponding to the recognized voice.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the comparing of the plurality of acquired voice signals comprises comparing the plurality of acquired voice signals with each other based on at least one of user voice range levels and noise levels of the plurality of acquired voice signals.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the determining of the voice signal comprises determining a voice signal having a highest user voice range level among the plurality of acquired voice signals as the voice signal subjected to the voice recognition.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the determining of the voice signal comprises determining a voice signal having a lowest noise level among the plurality of acquired voice signals as the voice signal subjected to the voice recognition.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the performing of the control operation comprises:

searching for the control operation corresponding to the recognized voice; and

performing the found control operation.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the searching for the control operation corresponding to the recognized voice comprises:

searching for a voice signal matching a voice signal of the recognized voice from one or more prestored voice signals; and

searching for the control operation corresponding to the found voice signal.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the recognizing of the user voice comprises converting the determined voice signal into a text.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the performing of the control operation comprises performing a control operation corresponding to the converted text.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining of the voice signal comprises:

dividing each of the plurality of acquired voice signals into a plurality of sections;

comparing the plurality of divided voice signals with respect to the same section;

generating a voice signal for the voice recognition based on the comparison result; and

determining the generated voice signal as the voice signal for the voice recognition.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the comparing of the plurality of divided voice signals with respect to the same section comprises comparing the same section of each of the plurality of divided voice signals based on at least one of a user voice range level and a noise level.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the generating of the voice signal comprises combining some sections of each of the plurality of voice signals to generate the voice signal for the voice recognition.

12. The method of claim 1, further comprising recognizing a trigger voice for recognizing the user voice,

wherein the transmitting of the voice acquisition command signal comprises transmitting the voice acquisition command signal based on the recognized trigger voice.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining of the voice signal comprises displaying information on a device acquiring the voice signal determined as the voice signal subjected to the voice recognition.

14. A video display device comprising:

a voice acquisition unit configured to acquire a user voice;

a communication unit configured to perform communication with at least one peripheral device connected to the video display device; and

a control unit configured to transmit a voice acquisition command signal to the at least one peripheral device, compare at least one voice signal for a user voice acquired by the at least one peripheral device with a voice signal acquired by the voice acquisition unit, determine a voice signal subjected to voice recognition based on the comparison result, recognize the user voice based on the determined voice signal, and perform a control operation corresponding to the recognized voice.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the control unit compares the plurality of acquired voice signals with each other based on at least one of user voice range levels and noise levels of the plurality of acquired voice signals.

The method of claim 15, wherein the control unit divides each of the plurality of acquired voice signals into a plurality of sections, compares the plurality of divided voice signals with respect to the same section, and generates a voice signal for the voice recognition based on the comparison result.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the control unit combines some sections of each of the plurality of voice signals to generate the voice signal for the voice recognition.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein the voice acquisition unit comprises a plurality of microphones, and

the control unit determines a location of the user by comparing user voice signals acquired by the plurality of microphones of the voice acquisition unit.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

a display unit; and

an image acquisition unit configured to acquire an image of the user,

wherein the control unit acquires the image of the user based on the determined location of the user and displays the acquired image of the user on the display unit.

20. The method of claim 14, further comprising a display unit,

wherein the control unit displays, on the display unit, information on a device acquiring the voice signal determined as the voice signal subjected to the voice recognition.
