1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- identifying a first object in a tiered storage system;
identifying first metadata associated with the first object, the first metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the first object;
identifying second metadata associated with a second object, the second metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the second object;
determining a relationship between the first object and the second object when the second metadata meets predetermined criteria when compared to the first metadata; and
modifying a value associated with the second object in response to an access of the first object, based on the relationship between the first object and the second object.

Abstract
In one general embodiment, a computer-implemented method is provided. The computer-implemented method includes identifying a first object in a tiered storage system, and identifying first metadata associated with the first object. The computer-implemented method also includes identifying a second object utilizing the first metadata of the first object. The second object is associated with second metadata. Moreover, the computer-implemented method includes, in response to an access of the first object, modifying a heat value associated with the second object.

10. A computer program product for performing predictive object tiering based on object metadata, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to:
-
identify, by the processor, a first object in a tiered storage system; identify, by the processor, first metadata associated with the first object, the first metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the first object; identify, by the processor, second metadata associated with a second object, the second metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the second object; determine, by the processor, a relationship between the first object and the second object when the second metadata meets predetermined criteria when compared to the first metadata; and modify, by the processor, a value associated with the second object in response to an access of the first object, based on the relationship between the first object and the second object. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

19. A system, comprising:
a processor and logic integrated with and/or executable by the processor, the logic being configured to; identify a first object in a tiered storage system; identify first metadata associated with the first object, the first metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the first object; identify second metadata associated with a second object, the second metadata including a plurality of details of a creation of the second object; determine a relationship between the first object and the second object when the second metadata meets predetermined criteria when compared to the first metadata; and modify a value associated with the second object in response to an access of the first object, based on the relationship between the first object and the second object.
