Abstract

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for locating, identifying, and tracking a known criminal, fugitive, missing person, and/or any other person of interest. An embodiment operates by deploying an unmanned aerial vehicle, determining the mode of operation of the UAV, operating the UAV in accordance with the mode of operation of the UAV, determining whether a subject has been detected, capturing a first voice sample associated with the subject, authenticating the identity of the subject, and transmitting the GPS location of the unmanned aerial vehicle to a computing device.

Claims

1. An unmanned aerial vehicle, comprising:

a global positioning system receiver configured to determine a first global position of the unmanned aerial vehicle;

a biometric sensing device; and

a processor in communication with the global positioning receiver and the biometric sensing device, wherein the processor is configured to;

capture biometric data associated with a monitored subject using the biometric sensing device;

transmit the captured biometric data to a computing device;

receive a response from the computing device;

track a second global position related to the monitored subject based, at least in part, on the first global position of the unmanned aerial vehicle; and

transmit the second global position to the computing device.

2. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 1, wherein the captured biometric data is a voice sample captured by a microphone.

3. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 1, wherein the captured biometric data is a facial image captured by a camera.

4. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 1, wherein the response received from the computing comprises an identity confirmation.

5. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine whether the monitored subject is moving; and

track the movements of the monitored subject continuously or at predetermined intervals.

6. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 5, wherein the second global position is at least one of an estimated global position of the monitored subject and a current global position of the unmanned aerial vehicle.

7. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 6, wherein the processor is further configured to transmit, to the computing device, an updated global position estimate of the monitored subject based on the tracked movements of the monitored subject.

8. The unmanned aerial vehicle of claim 6, wherein the processor is further configured to transmit, to the computing device, an updated current global position of the unmanned aerial vehicle based on the tracked movements of the monitored subject.

10. The system of claim 8, wherein the biometric data is a voice sample.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to identify the monitored subject by comparing the voiceprint against at least one stored voiceprint stored in a database, wherein the at least one stored voiceprint is associated with a known person.

13. The system of claim 8, wherein the biometric data is a facial image.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to derive a faceprint from the received facial image.

15. The system of claim 13, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to identify the monitored subject by comparing the faceprint against at least one stored faceprint stored in a database, wherein the at least one stored faceprint is associated with a known person.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein the monitored subject is at least one of a law enforcement officer, a corrections officer, a rescuer, a fugitive, a missing person, an injured person, or a known criminal.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein the at least one biometric sensing device is at least one of a microphone, a camera, or a combination thereof.

19. The method of claim 15, wherein the payload is a predetermined physical object.

20. The method of claim 15, further comprising tracking a global position using a global positioning system receiver coupled to the unmanned aerial vehicle.

9. A system for identifying and tracking a monitored subject, comprising:

at least one computing device, comprising;

at least one processor having a biometric analysis module; and

a user interface,

wherein the at least one processor is configured to;

receive, from an unmanned aerial vehicle, biometric data associated with a monitored subject;

analyze, using the biometric analysis module, the received biometric data;

display the biometric data analysis results at the user interface;

transmit, to the at least one unmanned aerial vehicle, a signal in response to the biometric data analysis; and

receive, from the unmanned aerial vehicle, global position coordinates related to the unmanned aerial vehicle.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to derive a voiceprint from the received voice sample.

16. A method in an unmanned aerial vehicle, the method comprising:

capturing biometric data associated with a monitored subject using at least one biometric sensing device;

transmitting the biometric data to a computing device;

receiving at least one response from the computing device based on the transmitted biometric data, wherein the response comprises an identity confirmation associated with the monitored subject; and

deploying at least one payload at or near the monitored subject, based on the identity confirmation received from the computing device.
