Abstract

The present disclosure relates, inter alia, to compositions and methods for treating viral diseases and cancer. There are disclosed lipophilic antiviral and anticancer acyclic nucleoside phosphonate diesters, preparation thereof, and methods of using the compounds to treat viral diseases and cancer.

Claims

1. A method of treating a proliferative disorder caused by human papilloma virus in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the formula

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the proliferative disorder is cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the proliferative disorder is anal intraepithelial neoplasia.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the proliferative disorder is vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the subject is a human.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the subject is a human.

7. The method of claim 3, wherein the subject is a human.

8. The method of claim 4, wherein the subject is a human.

9. The method of claim 1, comprising topically administering the compound.

10. The method of claim 2, comprising topically administering the compound.

11. The method of claim 3, comprising topically administering the compound.

12. The method of claim 4, comprising topically administering the compound.

13. A method of treating cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, anal intraepithelial neoplasia, or vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia in a human in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the human a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition which comprises (i) a compound of formula:

15. The method of claim 13 for treating anal intraepithelial neoplasia.

16. The method of claim 13 for treating vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia.

17. The method of claim 13, comprising topically administering the compound.

18. The method of claim 14, comprising topically administering the compound.

19. The method of claim 15, comprising topically administering the compound.

20. The method of claim 16, comprising topically administering the compound.
