Abstract

A process management tool for paving operations is disclosed. The process management tool includes a communication device configured to receive data messages associated with a worksite, a display device, and an input device configured to receive user inputs. The process management tool also includes a processor in communication with the communication device, the display device, and the input device. The processor is configured to generate an interactive map of the worksite on the display device, the map including a plurality of map sections selectable via the input device, each map section being associated with respective paving process data. The controller is also configured to receive, via the input device, a user input indicative of a selected map section and display, via the display device, paving process data associated with the selected map section in response to the user input.

Claims

1. A process management tool for paving operations, comprising:

a communication device configured to receive data messages associated with a worksite;

a display device;

an input device configured to receive user inputs; and

a processor in communication with the communication device, the display device, and the input device, wherein the processor is configured to;

generate an interactive map of the worksite on the display device, the map including a plurality of map sections selectable via the input device, each map section being associated with respective paying process data; and

receive, via the input device, a user input indicative of a selected map section; and

display, via the display device, paving process data associated with the selected map section in response to the user input.

2. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein each map section and the associated paving process data corresponds to an area of the work site associated with a location in a coordinate system.

3. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to display the paving process data associated with the selected map section in at least one of a table and a graph.

4. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to receive the user input indicative of the selected map section via a graphical button.

5. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to receive the user input indicative of the selected map section via a user selection of a portion the interactive map using the input device.

6. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the selected map section corresponds to a current location of the user on the worksite.

The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the paving process data associated with the selected map section includes one or more of a time, a temperature, a machine pass count, an impact space value, a compaction value, a vibration parameter, a pavement parameter, a machine operating parameter, an asphalt parameter and a machine ID.

8. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to automatically display a graphical object on the interactive map, the graphical object being associated with a map section.

9. The process management tool of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:

receive a user input indicative of a characterization associated with the selected map section or an instruction associated with the selected map section; and

display a graphical object on the interactive map associated with the characterization or instruction.

10. The process management tool of claim 9, wherein the processor is configured to communicate the characterization or instruction associated with the selected map section via the communication device.

11. A method of providing a process management tool for paving operations, the method comprising:

generating an interactive map of a worksite on a display device, the map including a plurality of map sections selectable via an input device, each map section being associated with respective paving process data;

receiving, via the input device, a user input indicative of a selected map section; and

displaying, via the display device, paving process data associated with the selected map section in response to the user input.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein each map section and the associated paving process data corresponds to an area of the work site associated with a location in a coordinate system.

13. The method of claim 11, further including displaying the paving process data associated with the selected map section in at least one of a table and a graph.

14. The method of claim 11, further including receiving the user input indicative of the selected map section via a graphical button.

15. The method of claim 11, further including receiving a user selection of a portion the interactive map via the input device, wherein the user selection of a portion the interactive map corresponds to the user input indicative of the selected map section.

16. The method of claim 11, wherein the selected map section corresponds to a current location of the user on the worksite.

17. The method of claim 11, wherein the paving process data associated with the selected map section includes one or more of a time, a temperature, a machine pass count, an impact space value, a compaction value, a vibration parameter, a pavement parameter, a machine operating parameter, an asphalt parameter and a machine ID.

18. The method of claim 11, further including automatically displaying a graphical object on the interactive map, the graphical object being associated with a map section.

19. The method of claim 11, further including:

receiving a user input indicative of a characterization associated with the selected map section or an instruction associated with the selected map section;

displaying a graphical object on the interactive map associated with the characterization or instruction; and

communicating the characterization or instruction associated with the selected map section via the communication device.

20. A process management tool for paving operations, comprising:

a communication device configured to receive data messages associated with a worksite;

a display device;

an input device configured to receive user inputs; and

a processor in communication with the communication device, the display device, and the input device, wherein the processor is configured to;

generate an interactive map of the worksite on the display device, the map including a plurality of map sections selectable via the input device, each map section being associated with respective paving process data;

wherein each map section and the associated paving process data corresponds to an area of the work site associated with a location in a coordinate system;

receive, via the input device, a user input indicative of a selected map section;

display, via the display device, paving process data associated with the selected map section in response to the user input;

receive a user input indicative of a characterization associated with the selected map section or an instruction associated with the selected map section; and

display a graphical object on the interactive map associated with the characterization or instruction.
