Abstract

Systems and techniques for configuring an Automated External Defibrillators are described herein.

Claims

1. A medical device management system comprising:

a plurality of external defibrillators associated with a user-selected servicing group, the plurality of external defibrillators comprising a previously stored protocol configuration; and

a configuration information database comprising an updated protocol configuration comprising user-selected configuration settings and associated with the user-selected servicing group,

wherein the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to be communicatively connected by a wireless connection to a central server comprising the configuration information database and to;

send a request for the updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group to the central server,

download the updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group, and

update the previously stored protocol configuration based on the received updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the user-selected configuration settings comprise settings for at least one of language, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) protocol, shock voltage, shock waveform and electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to send a verification of the updated protocol configuration to the central server.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to:

receive a request for the verification of the updated protocol configuration from the central server, and send the verification of the updated protocol configuration in response to the request for the verification.

The system of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to download a same updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group as each other of the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to initiate the request for the updated protocol configuration.

7. A method for configuring a plurality of external defibrillators, the method comprising:

sending, by a plurality of external defibrillators associated with a user-selected servicing group, to a central server comprising a configuration information database, a request for an updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group, wherein the configuration information database comprises the updated protocol configuration and the updated protocol configuration comprises user-selected configuration settings;

downloading, by the plurality of external defibrillators, the updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group; and

updating, by the plurality of external defibrillators, a previously stored protocol configuration on the received updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group, wherein the previously stored protocol configuration is previously stored at each of the plurality of external defibrillators.

8. The method of claim 7 comprising communicatively coupling to the central server, by the plurality of external defibrillators, via a wireless connection.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the user-selected configuration settings comprise settings for at least one of language, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) protocol, shock voltage, shock waveform and electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis.

10. The method of claim 7, comprising wherein the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group are configured to sending, by the plurality of external defibrillators to the central server, a verification of the updated protocol configuration.

11. The method of claim 10 comprising:

receiving a request for the verification of the updated protocol configuration from the central server; and

sending the verification of the updated protocol configuration in response to the request for the verification.

The method of claim 7 wherein the downloading comprises downloading, by each of the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group a same updated protocol configuration associated with the user-selected servicing group as each other of the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group.

13. The method of claim 7 comprising initiating the request for the updated protocol configuration by the plurality of external defibrillators associated with the user-selected servicing group.
