Abstract

Provided is a machine tool configured for machining by removing material from an object defining a machining surface and including a removal tool of material from the object and driving means configured to be placed directly in contact with the machining surface and to move said machine tool and, thus, the removal tool, with respect to the object.

Claims

1. A machine tool configured for machining by removing material from an object defining a machining surface, said machine tool comprising:

a removal tool for removing material from said object, the removal tool being a cutting and/or drilling tool;

driving means configured to be placed directly in contact with said machining surface and to move said machine tool and, thus, said removal tool, with respect to said object, while said removal tool removes material from said object.

2. The machine tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein said driving means comprise driving wheels defining a main axis of rotation,

and wherein said machine tool comprises a control unit configured to control said driving wheels and, thus, said machine tool along a material removal path.

The machine tool as claimed in claim 2, wherein said at least one driving wheel comprises a base member configured to rotate about said main axis of rotation and rolling members hinged idly to the side surface of said base member so as to be configured to arrange themselves between said base member and said machining surface and so come directly into contact with said machining surface.

4. The machine tool as claimed in claim 1 wherein said removal tool may include a stator part;

a spindle defining a machining axis; and

a tool configured to be attached to the spindle.

6. The machine tool as claimed in claim 1 wherein said removal tool is a milling machine.

7. The machine tool as claimed in claim 2, further comprising markers configured to be arranged on said machining surface to define said material removal path and sensors configured to detect the presence of said markers and movable by means of said driving means;

and wherein said control unit is suitablc configured to move said machine tool as a function of said markers.

9. A material removal machining process configured to be implemented by a machine tool as claimed in claim 2, said machining process further comprising:

an application phase in which said machine tool is arranged on said machining surface; and

a material removal phase in which said driving means move said machine tool along said material removal path and in which said removal tool removes material from said object along said material removal path.

10. The material removal machining process as claimed in claim 9, further comprising:

an additional material removal phase in which said driving means move said machine tool at least one additional time along said material removal path, wherein said removal tool removes material from said object again along said material removal path so as to cut said object.

5. The machine tool as claimed in claim 5, wherein said spindle is an electric spindle.

8. The machine tool as claimed in claim 8, wherein said markers and said sensors are of the optical type.
