Abstract

In one aspect, a device includes a processor, a communication interface accessible to the processor, and storage accessible to the processor. The storage bears instructions executable by the processor to identify an activity associated with a user. The instructions are also executable by the processor to use the communication interface to transmit at least one command to a light output apparatus to adjust light from the light output apparatus based on the identified activity.

Claims

1. A device, comprising:

a processor;

a communication interface accessible to the processor; and

storage accessible to the processor and bearing instructions executable by the processor to;

identify an activity associated with a user; and

use the communication interface to transmit at least one command to a light output apparatus to adjust light from the light output apparatus based on the identified activity.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the user is a first user, wherein the activity is a first activity, wherein the light output apparatus is a first light output apparatus, and wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

identify a second activity associated with a second user, at least a portion of the second activity occurring simultaneously with the first activity at a first time; and

use the communication interface to transmit at least one command to a second light output apparatus within a same room as the first light output apparatus to adjust light from the second light output apparatus based on the identified second activity such that the second light output apparatus outputs light during the first time based on the identified second activity.

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the user is a first user, wherein the light output apparatus is a first light output apparatus, and wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to;

identify the first user and a second user;

based on at least one lighting preference of the first user, adjust light output from the first light output apparatus; and

based on at least one lighting preference of the second user, adjust light output from a second light output apparatus.

4. The device of claim 3, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

identify the first user at a first location within a common area and identify the second user at a second location within the common area;

based on the at least one lighting preference of the first user and based on a determination that the first light output apparatus is at least one of at the first location and proximate to the first location, adjust light output from the first, light output apparatus; and

based on the at least one lighting preference of the second user and based on a determination that the second light output apparatus is at least one of at the second location and proximate to the second location, adjust light output from the second light output apparatus.

5. The device of claim 4, wherein proximate, to the first location is within a threshold distance of the first location, and wherein proximate to the second location is within a threshold distance of the second location.

6. The device of claim 1, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to:

profile the user based on at least one identified characteristic of the user; and

use the communication interface to transmit at least one command to the light output apparatus to adjust light from the light output apparatus based on the identified activity and based on the profiling of the user.

7. The device of claim 1, wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to;

identify a light output parameter associated with the user; and

use the communication interface to transmit at least one command to the light output apparatus to adjust light from the light output apparatus based on the identified activity and based on the light output parameter.

8. The device of claim 7, wherein the light output parameter associated with the user comprises one or more of:

a particular brightness level a particular hue, a particular saturation level.

9. A method, comprising:

identifying a first user and a second user at different locations within an area; and

based on at least a first lighting preference of the first user, adjusting light output from a first light output apparatus; and

based on at least a second lighting preference of the second user, adjusting light output from a second light output apparatus.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the first light output apparatus is a most-proximate light output apparatus to the first user, and wherein the second light output apparatus is a most-proximate light output apparatus to the second user.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the first light output apparatus is more proximate to the first user than the second user, and wherein the second light output apparatus is more proximate to the second user than the first user.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the area is a room of a building.

13. The method of claim 9, wherein the first lighting preference is identified based at least in part on one or more of an identified mood of the first user and an identified emotion of the first user.

14. The method of claim 9, comprising:

adjusting light output from the first light output apparatus based on a first activity associated with the first user; and

adjusting light output from the second light output apparatus based on a second activity associated with the second user and for which at least a portion occurs simultaneously with the first activity at a first time such that the second light output apparatus outputs light during the first time based on the identified second activity.

15. A computer readable storage medium that is not a transitory signal the computer readable storage medium comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

identify an activity associated, with a user; and

control a lighting apparatus to adjust light from the lighting apparatus based on the activity.

16. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the activity is an activity previously engaged in by the user and in which the user is no longer engaged.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16, wherein the activity is an activity previously engaged in by the user within a threshold time of a current time.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the activity is a current activity of the user.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the activity is identified based at least in part on a history of previously engaged-in activities.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein light is adjusted by one of:

actuating the lighting apparatus from off to on, actuating the lighting apparatus from on to off.
