Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A signal transmission and reception method implemented by a terminal of a mobile communication system is provided. The terminal receives first information including a request for beam related information from a base station and transmits second information including the beam related information based on the first information to the base station. The terminal changes at least one of a Tx beam or a Rx beam associated with the base station, based on the first information and the second information.

Claims

1. A signal transmission and reception method of a terminal of a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

receiving, from a base station, first information including a request for beam related information;

transmitting, to the base station, second information including the beam related information based on the first information; and

changing at least one of a transmitting (Tx) beam or a receiving (Rx) beam associated with the base station, based on the first information and the second information.

2. The method of claim 1,

wherein the first information includes beam change indication information of the terminal, and

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station includes changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station, based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the second information includes beam change indication information of the base station,

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station includes changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station, based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change,

wherein the first information includes third information indicating a channel associated with the beam change, and

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station includes changing a beam corresponding to a channel determined based on the third information to a beam determined according to the first information and the second information.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station includes:

receiving, from the base station, a response to the second information at a first subframe; and

changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station at a second subframe, based on the first information and the second information, and

wherein information about a relation between the first subframe and the second subframe is received from the base station through the first information or a separate message.

5. A signal transmission and reception method of a base station of a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a terminal, first information including a request for beam related information;

receiving, from the terminal, second information including the beam related information based on the first information; and

changing at least one of a transmitting (Tx) beam or a receiving (Rx) beam associated with the terminal, based on the first information and the second information.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the first information includes beam change indication information of the base station, and

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal includes changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal, based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change.

7. The method of claim 5,

wherein the second information includes beam change indication information of the terminal,

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal includes changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change,

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal includes:

transmitting, to the terminal, a response to the second information at a first subframe; and

changing the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal at a second subframe based on the first information and the second information,

wherein information about a relation between the first subframe and the second subframe is transmitted to the terminal through the first information or a separate message,

wherein the first information includes third information indicating a channel associated with the beam change, and

wherein the changing of the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal includes changing a beam corresponding to a channel determined based on the third information to a beam determined according to the first information and the second information.

8. A terminal of a mobile communication system, the terminal comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals; and

at least one processor configured to;

control the transceiver to receive, from a base station, first information including a request for beam related information,

control the transceiver to transmit, to the base station, second information including the beam related information based on the first information, and

change at least one of a transmitting (Tx) beam or a receiving (Rx) beam associated with the base station based on the first information and the second information.

9. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the first information includes beam change indication information of the terminal, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change.

10. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the second information includes beam change indication information of the base station,

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change,

wherein the first information includes third information indicating a channel associated with the beam change, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change a beam corresponding to a channel determined based on the third information to a beam determined according to the first information and the second information.

11. The terminal of claim 8,

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

control the transceiver to receive, from the base station, a response to the second information at a first subframe, and

change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the base station at a second subframe based on the first information and the second information, and

wherein information about a relation between the first subframe and the second subframe is received from the base station through the first information or a separate message.

12. A base station of a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals; and

at least one processor configured to;

control the transceiver to transmit, to a terminal, first information including a request for beam related information,

control the transceiver to receive, from the terminal, second information including the beam related information based on the first information, and

change at least one of a transmitting (Tx) beam or a receiving (Rx) beam associated with the terminal based on the first information and the second information.

13. The base station of claim 12, wherein the first information includes beam change indication information of the base station,

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change,

wherein the first information includes third information indicating a channel associated with the beam change, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change a beam corresponding to a channel determined based on the third information to a beam determined according to the first information and the second information.

14. The base station of claim 12, wherein the second information includes beam change indication information of the terminal, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal based on the first information and the second information, according to whether the beam change indication information indicates a beam change.

15. The base station of claim 12, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the transceiver to:

transmit, to the terminal, a response to the second information at a first subframe, and

change the at least one of the Tx beam or the Rx beam associated with the terminal at a second subframe based on the first information and the second information, and

wherein information about a relation between the first subframe and the second subframe is transmitted to the terminal through the first information or a separate message.
