Abstract

A method for receiving system information, the method includes receiving, by a mobile terminal, a first block of second system information from a base station, wherein the first block of second system information includes scheduling information related to a plurality of second blocks of second system information; determining, by the mobile terminal, on which resource the plurality of second blocks of second system information is received using the scheduling information; and receiving, by the mobile terminal, the plurality of second blocks of second system information from the base station on the determined resource.

Claims

1. A method for receiving system information, the method comprising:

receiving, by a mobile terminal, a first block of second system information from a base station, wherein the first block of second system information includes scheduling information related to a plurality of second blocks of second system information;

determining, by the mobile terminal, on which resource the plurality of second blocks of second system information is received using the scheduling information; and

receiving, by the mobile terminal, the plurality of second blocks of second system information from the base station on the determined resource.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the scheduling information includes periodicity information of each of the second blocks.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, by the mobile terminal, a block of first system information from the base station.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the first block of second system information is received in a fixed time after the block of first system information is received.

5. The method of claim 3, wherein the block of first system information includes at least one of bandwidth information and parameter information about a physical layer.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the resource is indicated by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a subframe indicated by the scheduling information.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of second blocks of second system information further includes at least one of:

paging information,

a cell select related information,

a positioning related information, and

a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) related information.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the first block of second system information further includes value tag information and cell access related information, and

wherein the cell access related information includes at least one of Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity information, tracking area information, and cell barred information.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein one of the plurality of second blocks of second system information further includes value tag information.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of second blocks of second system information received from the base station is configured to carry user traffic.

11. A mobile terminal for receiving system information, the mobile terminal comprising:

a transmitter and a receiver;

a processor that controls the transmitter and the receiver,

wherein the processor receives a first block of second system information from a base station, wherein the first block of second system information includes scheduling information related to a plurality of second blocks of second system information;

determines on which resource the plurality of second blocks of second system information is received using the scheduling information; and

receives the plurality of second blocks of second system information from the base station on the determined resource.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the scheduling information includes periodicity information of each of the second blocks.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 11, further comprising:

receiving, by the mobile terminal, a block of first system information from the base station.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the first block of second system information is received in a fixed time after the block of first system information is received.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the block of first system information includes at least one of bandwidth information and parameter information about a physical layer.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the resource is indicated by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a subframe indicated by the scheduling information.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the plurality of second blocks of second system information further includes at least one of:

paging information,

a cell select related information,

a positioning related information, and

a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) related information.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the first block of second system information further includes value tag information and cell access related information, and

wherein the cell access related information includes at least one of Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity information, tracking area information, and cell barred information.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein one of the plurality of second blocks of second system information further includes value tag information.

20. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the plurality of second blocks of second system information received from the base station is configured to carry user traffic.
