Abstract

Embodiments of golf clubs and methods to manufacture golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club may include a golf club head having an interior cavity and a shaft attached to the golf club head. At least a portion of the shaft may be filled with an elastic polymer material, and the interior cavity may be at least partially filled with an elastic polymer material. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.

Claims

1. A golf club comprising:

a golf club head having an interior cavity;

a shaft attached to the golf club head;

wherein at least a portion of the shaft is filled with an elastic polymer material, and

wherein the interior cavity is at least 50% filled with an elastic polymer material.

2. A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the first end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

3. A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion between the first end portion and the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

5. A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein at least a portion of the shaft includes a sleeve portion constructed from an elastic polymer material.

A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, wherein the golf club head comprises a hosel portion configured to receive the first end portion, and wherein at least a portion of the hosel portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

7. A golf club as defined in claim 1, wherein the portion of the shaft that is filled with the elastic polymer material is filled by the elastic polymer material being injection molded in the shaft.

8. A golf club comprising:

a golf club head having a hosel portion and an interior cavity; and

a shaft attached to the hosel portion;

wherein at least a portion of the shaft at or proximate to the hosel portion is filled with an elastic polymer material, and

wherein the interior cavity is at least 50% filled with an elastic polymer material.

9. A golf club as defined in claim 8, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the first end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

10. A golf club as defined in claim 8, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

11. A golf club as defined in claim 8, wherein the shaft includes a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion, and wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion between the first end portion and the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

12. A golf club as defined in claim 8, wherein at least a portion of the shaft includes a sleeve portion constructed from an elastic polymer material.

13. A golf club as defined in claim 8, wherein the portion of the shaft that is filled with the elastic polymer material is filled by the elastic polymer material being injection molded in the shaft.

14. A golf club comprising:

a golf club head comprising a body portion having an interior cavity; and

a shaft including a shaft body portion having a first end portion coupled to the golf club head and a second end portion coupled to a grip portion,

wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion and at least a portion of the interior cavity are filled with an elastic polymer material.

15. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion at or proximate to the first end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

16. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion at or proximate to the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

17. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion between the first end portion and the second end portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

18. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein at least a portion of the shaft body portion includes a sleeve portion constructed from an elastic polymer material.

19. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein the golf club head comprises a hosel portion configured to receive a portion of the first end portion of the shaft body portion, and wherein at least a portion of the hosel portion is filled with an elastic polymer material.

20. A golf club as defined in claim 14, wherein the elastic polymer material is injected into the shaft body portion and the interior cavity.
