Abstract

A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).

Claims

1. A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a single layer tray comprising a first compartment and a second compartment;

a first syringe and a second syringe disposed within the single layer tray;

a Foley catheter, coupled to coiled tubing and a fluid drain bag, disposed within the second compartment;

the first compartment defining a lubricating jelly application chamber to lubricate at least a portion of the Foley catheter.

2. The medical procedure kit of claim 1, wherein the first syringe is disposed within the first compartment.

3. The medical procedure kit of claim 1, wherein the second syringe is at least partially disposed in the second compartment.

4. The medical procedure kit of claim 1, wherein the first syringe contains lubricating jelly.

5. The medical procedure kit of claim 4, wherein the second syringe comprises sterile water.

6. The medical procedure kit of claim 4, further comprising printed instructions for using the single layer tray.

7. The medical procedure kit of claim 6, the printed instructions instructing dispensation of the lubricating jelly in the first compartment and one of printed, placed upon, or molded into the single layer tray.

8. The medical procedure kit of claim 4, the printed instructions further instructing application of the lubricating jelly to the at least a portion of the Foley catheter using the lubricating jelly application chamber.

9. The medical procedure kit of claim 1, further comprising one or more swabsticks disposed within the single layer tray.

10. The medical procedure kit of claim 9, further comprising a specimen container disposed within the single layer tray.

11. The medical procedure kit of claim 10, the single layer tray comprising a third compartment, wherein one or both of the one or more swabsticks and the specimen container are disposed within the third compartment.

12. A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a single layer tray comprising a lubricating jelly application chamber and a compartment;

a container of lubricating jelly disposed within the single layer tray; and

a Foley catheter, coupled to a fluid bag by coiled tubing, disposed within the compartment;

wherein the single layer tray comprises printed instructions instructing dispensation of the lubricating jelly into the lubricating jelly application chamber to lubricate at least a portion of the Foley catheter.

13. The medical procedure kit of claim 12, wherein the printed instructions are one of printed, placed upon, or molded into the single layer tray.

14. The medical procedure kit of claim 12, further comprising a syringe containing sterile water.

15. The medical procedure kit of claim 14, the syringe at least partially disposed within the compartment with the Foley catheter.

16. The medical procedure kit of claim 15, the single layer tray comprising a second chamber, further comprising one or more swabsticks disposed within the second chamber.

17. A medical procedure kit, comprising:

a single layer tray comprising compartment and a lubricating jelly application chamber;

a container of lubricating jelly disposed within the single layer tray; and

a coiled tubing coupled between a Foley catheter and a drain bag, wherein the coiled tubing, the drain bag, and the Foley catheter are disposed within the compartment;

wherein the lubricating jelly application chamber is configured to lubricate at least a portion of the Foley catheter with the lubricating jelly.

18. The medical procedure kit of claim 17, further comprising one or more swabsticks disposed within the single layer tray.

19. The medical procedure kit of claim 17, further comprising a syringe containing water disposed within the single layer tray, wherein the syringe is at least partially disposed in the compartment with the Foley catheter.

20. The medical procedure kit of claim 17, the compartment and the lubricating jelly application chamber separated by a wall with an opening.
