Abstract

A display device can include a tuner to receive a broadcast signal; a network interface to receive an application; an external device interface; a display module to display a broadcast program, the received application or video data received from the external device interface; and a controller to display the received broadcast program in a first area, receive a request for displaying a list from a remote controller, and display the list in a second area within the first area, the list includes a first item including information identifying a recently accessed application, a second item including information identifying a recently accessed broadcast program, or a third item including information identifying an external device recently connected to the display device or an access path of the external device, and a specific information item including a main screen of a last accessed webpage is included in the list.

Claims

1. A display device for processing video data, the display device comprising:

a tuner configured to receive a broadcast signal comprising at least one broadcast program;

a network interface configured to receive at least one application;

an external device interface configured to connect to at least one external device;

a display module configured to display the broadcast program, the received application or video data received from the external device interface; and

a controller configured to;

control the display module to display the received broadcast program in a first area,

receive a request for displaying a list from a remote controller, and

display the list in a second area according to the request, wherein the second area is within the first area,

wherein the list comprises at least one of a first item including information identifying a recently accessed application, a second item including information identifying a recently accessed broadcast program, or a third item including information identifying an external device recently connected to the display device or information identifying an access path of the external device recently connected to the display device, and

wherein a specific information item comprising a main screen of a last accessed webpage is included in the list, and the specific information item and the main screen of the last accessed webpage are stored in a memory.

2. The display device of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first item, the second item and the third item is arranged based on a predetermined order, and the predetermined order includes the most recently accessed content arranged at a left side of the display module.

3. The display device of claim 1, wherein the second item including information identifying the recently accessed broadcast program is limited for a specific broadcast program tuned for a predetermined time.

4. The display device of claim 3, wherein the predetermined time is over 10 seconds.

5. The display device of claim 1, wherein the request is received from a remote controller having both a radio frequency (RF) module and an infrared (IR) module.

6. The display device of claim 5, wherein a pointer is movable based on motion information received from the remote controller, and the first item, the second item or the third item is highlighted according to a signal received from the remote controller.

7. The display device of claim 1, wherein the first item corresponds to an application icon or an application name, the second item corresponds to at least one of a captured image, a channel number, a channel logo or a thumbnail image, and the third item corresponds to an icon corresponding to an external device or a name of an external device.

8. The display device of claim 7, wherein the thumbnail image is received from a content provider (CP) via the network interface.

9. The display device of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to maintain a broadcast mode in the first area in response to selecting the second item in the second area, and change the broadcast mode into an application mode in the first area in response to selecting the first item in the second area.

10. The display device of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to delete at least one item or all items within the second area, and

wherein the at least one item or all items are movable within the second area.

11. The display device of claim 1, wherein the received application is downloaded in a memory while at least one system application is pre-stored in the memory.

12. The display device of claim 11, wherein the downloaded application is able to be deleted by a remote controller while the system application is unable to be deleted by the remote controller.

13. The display device of claim 1, wherein the display device corresponds to a smart television, a network TV, an internet TV, a web TV or an IPTV.

14. A display device for processing video data, the display device comprising:

a tuner configured to receive a broadcast signal comprising at least one broadcast program;

a network interface configured to receive at least one application;

an external device interface configured to connect to at least one external device;

a display module configured to display the broadcast program, the received application or video data received from the external device interface; and

a controller configured to;

receive a request for displaying a plurality of items from a remote controller, and

control the display module to display the plurality of items according to the request,

wherein the plurality of items include a first item including information identifying recently accessed application, a second item including information identifying recently accessed broadcast program, or a third item including information identifying an external device recently connected to the display device or information identifying an access path of the external device recently connected to the display device, and

wherein the plurality of items include a specific information item comprising a main screen of a last accessed webpage, and the specific information item and the main screen of the last accessed webpage are stored in a memory.

15. The display device of claim 14, wherein at least one of the first item, the second item and the third item is arranged based on a predetermined order, and the predetermined order includes the most recently accessed content arranged at a left side of the display module.

16. The display device of claim 14, wherein the second item including information identifying the recently accessed broadcast program is limited for a specific broadcast program tuned for a predetermined time.

17. The display device of claim 16, wherein the predetermined time is over 10 seconds.

18. The display device of claim 14, wherein the request is received from a remote controller having both a radio frequency (RF) module and an infrared (IR) module.

19. The display device of claim 18, wherein a pointer is movable based on motion information received from the remote controller, and the first item, the second item or the third item is highlighted according to signal received from the remote controller.

20. The display device of claim 14, wherein the first item corresponds to an application icon or an application name, the second item corresponds to at least one of a captured image, a channel number, a channel logo or a thumbnail image, and the third item corresponds to an external device icon or a name of an external device.

21. The display device of claim 20, wherein the thumbnail image is received from a content provider (CP) via the network interface.

22. The display device of claim 14, wherein the controller is further configured to maintain a broadcast mode in the first area in response to selecting the second item in the second area, and change the broadcast mode into an application mode in the first area in response to selecting the first item in the second area.

23. The display device of claim 14, wherein the controller is further configured to delete at least one item or all items within the second area,

wherein the at least one item or all items are movable within the second area.

24. The display device of claim 14, wherein the received application is downloaded in a memory while at least one system application is pre-stored in the memory.

25. The display device of claim 24, wherein the downloaded application is able to be deleted by a remote controller while the system application is unable to be deleted by the remote controller.

26. The display device of claim 14, wherein the display device corresponds to a smart television, a network TV, an internet TV, a web TV or an IPTV.

27. A digital device for processing data, the digital device comprising:

a tuner configured to receive a broadcast signal comprising at least one broadcast program;

a network interface configured to receive at least one application;

an external device interface configured to connect to at least one external device; and

a controller configured to;

receive a request for displaying a plurality of items from a remote controller, and

output the plurality of items according to the request,

wherein the plurality of items include a first item including information identifying recently accessed application, a second item including information identifying recently accessed broadcast program, and a third item including information identifying an external device recently connected to the display device or information identifying an access path of the external device recently connected to the display device, and

wherein the plurality of items include a specific information item comprising a main screen of a last accessed webpage, and the specific information item and the main screen of the last accessed webpage are stored in a memory.

28. The digital device of claim 27, wherein at least one of the first item, the second item and the third item is arranged based on a predetermined order, and the predetermined order includes the most recently accessed content arranged at a left side of the display module.

29. The digital device of claim 27, wherein the second item including information identifying the recently accessed broadcast program is limited for a specific broadcast program tuned for a predetermined time.

30. The digital device of claim 29, wherein the predetermined time is over 10 seconds.

31. The digital device of claim 27, wherein the request is received from a remote controller having both a radio frequency (RF) module and an infrared (IR) module.

32. The digital device of claim 31, wherein a pointer is movable based on motion information received from the remote controller, and the first item, the second item or the third item is highlighted according to signal received from the remote controller.

33. The digital device of claim 27, wherein the first item corresponds to an application icon or an application name, the second item corresponds to at least one of a captured image, a channel number, a channel logo or a thumbnail image, and the third item corresponds to an external device icon or a name of an external device.

34. The digital device of claim 33, wherein the thumbnail image is received from a content provider (CP) via the network interface.

35. The digital device of claim 27, wherein the received application is downloaded in a memory while at least one system application is pre-stored in the memory.

36. The digital device of claim 35, wherein the downloaded application is able to be deleted by a remote controller while the system application is unable to be deleted by the remote controller.
