HEMOSTATIC DEVICE
First Claim
1. A hemostatic device comprising:
- a flexible band portion and a more rigid portion, the flexible band portion being configured to be wrapped around at least a portion of a limb of a patient to apply the hemostatic device to the limb of the patient;
the more rigid portion being more rigid than the flexible band portion, the more rigid portion possessing an inner side that faces towards the limb of the patient when the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient;
the inner side of the more rigid portion comprising a flat inner side part that is flat and a curved inner side part that is curved;
an inflatable balloon that inflates when a fluid is introduced into the balloon, the inflatable balloon being located at the inner side of the more rigid portion so that the inflatable balloon is between the inner side of the more rigid portion and the limb of the patient when the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient; and
the balloon being positioned relative to the curved inner side part of the more rigid portion such that when the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient and the inflatable balloon is inflated, at least a part of the balloon contacts the curved inner side that is curved so that the balloon applies a compression force to a puncture site in an oblique direction with respect to a surface of the limb.

Abstract
A hemostatic device includes a flexible band adapted to be wrapped around a patient'"'"'s limb at a site on the limb where bleeding is to be stopped, a portion for securing the band in a wrapped state to the limb, a curved plate which is made of a material more rigid than the band and at least a portion of which is curved toward the inner peripheral side thereof, a main balloon which is provided on the inner peripheral side of the curved plate and which inflates when a fluid is introduced therein, and a pressing member which is provided between the curved plate and the main balloon so that at least a portion thereof overlaps with the balloon and which is adapted for pressing against the balloon. The device provides an excellent hemostatic effect and prevents numbness and poor circulation in areas peripheral to the site of attachment.

7. A hemostatic device comprising:
-
a flexible band configured to be wrapped around at least a portion of a limb of a patient to apply the hemostatic device to the limb of the patient at a puncture site at which bleeding is to be stopped; an inflatable balloon that inflates when a fluid is introduced into the balloon, the inflatable balloon being located to contact a surface of the patient'"'"'s limb when the balloon is inflated while the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient, the balloon possessing a center; a marker positioned in alignment with the center of the balloon so that when the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient with the marker overlying the puncture site, the center of the balloon overlies the puncture site; and the marker being positioned so that when the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient and the balloon is inflated, the marker does not directly contact the puncture site. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12)

13. A hemostatic device comprising:
-
a flexible band configured to wrap around at least a portion of a limb of a patient in a wrapped state to apply the hemostatic device to the limb of the patient at a site where bleeding is to be stopped; means for securing the flexible band in the wrapped state to the patient'"'"'s limb; a main balloon possessing an interior, the main balloon being inflatable upon introducing a fluid into the interior of the main balloon, the main balloon being positioned to contact the patient'"'"'s limb when the balloon is inflated while the hemostatic device is applied to the limb of the patient; a secondary balloon smaller in size than the main balloon, the secondary balloon being inflatable upon introducing a fluid into the interior of the secondary balloon; at least a part of the main balloon and at least a part of the secondary balloon overlapping one another; at least a part of the main balloon and at least a part of the secondary balloon being joined to one another; and an opening communicating the interior of the main balloon with the interior of the secondary balloon so that fluid introduced into the interior of one of the main and secondary balloons flows into the other of the main and secondary balloons. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19)
