Abstract

In one embodiment according to the present invention, a stent is described having a generally cylindrical body formed from a single woven nitinol wire. The distal and proximal ends of the stent include a plurality of loops, some of which include marker members used for visualizing the position of the stent. In another embodiment, the previously described stent includes an inner flow diverting layer.

Claims

1. An implant device comprising:

a tubular, woven portion;

a plurality of loops on a distal and proximal end of said woven portion; and

,

a plurality of coils positioned on at least some of said plurality of loops.

2. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said woven portion and said plurality of loops consist of only a single wire.

3. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said implant device is expandable to a fully expanded configuration in which an outer diameter of said fully woven portion is smaller than an outer diameter of said plurality of loops.

4. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said plurality of coils comprise a first coil on a distal end of the device and a second coil on a proximal end of the device and wherein said first coil and said second coil are formed from a single wire.

5. The implant device of claim 4, wherein said single wire is also interwoven in said tubular woven portion.

6. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said implant device is composed of at least one wire and wherein a diameter of said wire is non-uniform along its length.

7. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said implant device is composed of at least one wire and wherein a diameter of said wire is larger at a proximal end and a distal end of said device than at a middle of said device.

8. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said tubular, woven portion comprises at least one wire that forms a plurality of overlapping wire locations and wherein said at least one wire has a reduced diameter at said overlapping wire locations.

9. The implant device of claim 1, wherein said plurality of loops comprises a distal loop on said distal end of said woven portion;

said distal loop having a first side connected to distal coil and a second side;

wherein said woven portion is arranged to apply direct pressure on said first side when said implant device is compressed.

10. An implant device comprising:

a first woven layer having a first porosity and forming a generally tubular shape with a space therethrough; and

,

a second woven layer having a second porosity and located within said space within said tubular shape;

wherein said second woven layer extends along a fractional length of said first woven layer.

11. The implant device of claim 10, wherein said first woven layer has a porosity between about 75% and 95% and said second woven layer has a porosity between about 45% and 70%.

12. The implant device of claim 10, wherein said first woven layer has a surface area between about 5% and 25%.

13. The implant device of claim 10, wherein said second woven layer is asymmetrically positioned along a full length of said first woven layer.

14. The implant device of claim 10, wherein said second woven layer is positioned between a first end of said first woven layer and a middle of said first woven layer.
